So the Smithsonian can’t show that slavery was bad?

There are triumphs and achievements that are widely celebrated and taught...that's part of the history...

I'm going to discuss "LOGIC" here so you might need to phone a friend.

Technically speaking the idea of OVERCOMING something does not make that part of the something being overcome. In other words THERE IS NO GOOD FROM SOMETHING THAT IS ONLY GOOD WHEN IT IS OVERCOME OR ELIMINATED.

That's like saying a nuclear meltdown is "good" when someone accidentally survives or runs away fast enough to survive.

That doesn't mean there is anything GOOD about the nuclear meltdown.

Those are good things...

Not about slavery.

Those are good things about people OVERCOMING slavery.

Surviving a deadly illness does not mean there's a "good" thing about the deadly illness.

We're talking about the history...and the good things that need to be recognized, appreciated, and celebrated...

Trump is dividing us.

I disagree. Trump is a SYMPTOM of our divide. We had FAR too many Americans decide that a convicted felon and rapist who is cruel beyond measure to everyone would be a good POTUS.

There's something broken in many of us in America. Truly and profoundly.

Just like the run-up to the Civil War: people get on a path and for some reason we can't get off it until we beat each other so horrifically that we SCARE THE CRAP out of ourselves as to what horrors we can visit upon each other. Then we calm down for 50-100 years until we can't handle it anymore and we have to beat the hell out of each other.

One side has to start by espousing truly horrific and appalling things.

And what does this tell you, the fact that the Smithsonian has other exhibits? Please complete your thought. I'm sorry, do you have a thought?
One is dedicated SOLELY to the Holocaust the other isn't so slavery should not be a disproportionate part of the Smithsonian.

Have you seen the slavery and freedom exhibition at the Smithsonian? It's online...the creator talks about all historical aspects when it comes to slavery...but it needs refreshed...
Our exhibits here are much better and comprehensive...
