Yep, mail-in ballots make it easier for people to vote. Republicans know that the more people voting means they lose because their ideas suck. Makes total sense they're trying to do this. My prediction is that it'll go to SCOTUS and the conservatives on the court being big-time authoritarian power-grabbers will sign off on it. They don't want liberals voting either.

It has been done for many, many decades. The first step is always checking signatures . Unsigned ballots are sent back if it is early, so they can make asnother ballot. When I was doing it, they did not have computers comparing signatures. Now they do. One problem is that many states have a rule that mail in cannot be recounted until the polls close. That has been changed in most states. So as they arrive, they are processed.

There were lots of people that received ballots that were not theirs.

I have no problem with a person with a medical reason REQUESTING a mail in ballot. But mass mailing out ballots is insane.

As earlier pointed out to you, if someone fraudulently fills out a ballot in the name of another voter the fraud will be discovered when two ballots are received under the same name; the fraud will be investigated, quickly solved, and the fraudulent voter will be arrested. The risk involved in submitting a false ballot in this manner (the fraudulent voter having no way of knowing if the real voter will cast a ballot) therefore far outweighs any benefit to be received, which is why there is virtually no evidence of it occurring.
