The remora of JPP
Do you agree?
I agree on the moral principles.
Do you agree?
And THAT is where the erosion of support for Christianity in our society is allowing our society to slide toward the abyss.
And right before we fall into the chasm of doom, some will be thinking, "what will save us, but more freedom of speech!" when too much or undeserved free speech is what accelerated or prompted the slide.
You are seeing the extreme and not what would be a comfortable middle ground such as existed in America in the early 1960's for example.

That cartoon helps illustrate the problem of an influx of foreigners who don't share our values.
We make allowances for them and then the exceptions we make for them become expected to apply to everyone.
In a homogenous society, everyone more or less agrees to the same set of ethics and morality.
This is the latest example of where our justice system falls short and where Christianity is too weak to save our society from degradation. So, this will breed other examples of degradation over time and we will all lament how bad things are getting, but nothing will seem capable of stopping the slide to a Sodom and Gomorrah state.
Jesus is the answer.

The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday, June 23, 2021, that the public school wrongly suspended Levy from cheerleading over a vulgar social media post she made after she didn't qualify for the varsity team. What does that mean?? Undeserved??
I'm sure you do know that during that time, a time of jim crow, US sponsored wars & coup d'états etc etc life was not all that great for all Americans & others
When was this country or North America a homogenous society??
Not at all.
I'm saying all of American society should adopt a code of ethics and a set of values which we would internalize to keep us from unwittingly contributing to our own demise.
Same principle as not discriminating against minorities, but expanded to make all of us do things of our own accord, which AT LEAST don't make America sicker.
And the set of values we have now are only making us sicker and sicker.
On the other hand, the Bible's principals have been in use for thousands of years.
A revival of those standards but without it being a religion or being called a religion, is what we need to agree on.
And there's a coincidence that as America grew less charming and kind spirited, so did the movement to eliminate Christianity from our schools and our daily lives, become more prevalent.
& there in lay the rub-it did happen, many many times. The root of the problem is people, this is up to the interpretation of ppl, not a moral & just God.. As you said this has been around for thousands of years & a blind man can see how it was interpreted & used against fellow man..No man is an island.
The next time someone in America does some awful thing, whether it be a legal thing or an illegal thing, think about how ineffective our laws were in preventing that outrageous behavior.
Do you think America, most ALL Americans, would be outraged if a KKK member burned down the house of a Black family?
Yes.
Why?
Because a moral principle, which happens to be in the Bible, was agreed upon by most in our society that murder and murderous discrimination against Blacks should not be done and should be condemned by all good people.
You are not a Christian because you embrace this value.
You are a good person.
We have learned a lot since that time.
The idea of returning to what was good about that period does not mean that we would automatically revive what was bad as well.
It's not like they only come in a package deal.
That kind of thinking is ridiculous.
Do you really think that to revive what was good about those days, that we must settle for all of the bad, too???
Before the mid 1960's, 80% of America was Christian, iinm.

I suspect all human beings have an obligation to natural law.No, I have found principles I live by, it’s not hard for me at all. None of my principles are based upon religious laws.
You made a statement about religious laws that have stood the test of time and I was inquiring of you which laws. I sited a few religious laws that are of no real value.
Im sorry if you don’t understand how debate or a discussion works.
