Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

According to World0Meters serious/critical cases are still flatlined.

This need to change for the alarmists to have a case.

Of course that's true. DUH.

It's hilarious how suddenly the CDC is worth quoting.

It's pretty easy: If the CDC says something a Trumpette likes, then it's worth citing. If the CDC says something she doesn't like, then it's "Fake news! Democrat lies! A plot to put both Obama and Hillary in the White House, dammit!". Easy peasy

Well, science trumps common sense lol.

There’s any number of things that seem intuitively true that have been dispensed by science: flat earth is the most famous example.

Masks *seem* like they should prevent transmission. But the only literature I could find on the efficacy of masks [specifically masks, not masks correlated with pandemic numbers] concluded they were useless to prevent transmission.

And it wasn’t one peer reviewed study—it was a review of several studies and each came to the same conclusion: masks don’t work in a clinical setting.

I posted the link but it was derided because it was done by dentists and oral surgeons. The problem with that objection is they reviewed studies from different disciplines. In one instance, they found no correlation between surgical staff wearing masks and wound infections. Didn’t matter if masks were worn during surgery or not—no statistical difference in outcome. That actually surprised me.

So, how can masks be useless in a clinical setting but useful when worn in public by the public?

It was weeks ago that I was looking into the matter, what I found is that wearing masks in surgery has never been backed by science, there never was any evidence that it does any good, that the practice continues because it cant hurt and it makes people feel like they are trying.

Polio struck many very young. Children.

Measles rampant among children.

Your stupidity is not fixable.

apples and oranges
why are you and so many opposed to and angry regarding simply helping to strengthen your own selves?
i mean you all are onboard with mask-weraring as a precaution.......what's up with the rebellion against getting your bodies in a little tougher shape to also fight off health issues?

There ya go. A broken clock is still right twice a day.
What they are saying now is the advice we've gotten already from doctors for yeeeeeeeeears. It's old school medical info.
All doctors want their patients to get healthier and maintain a strong immune system.
Wash your hands, cover your mouth when sneezing, stay home if you're sick, eat right, yada, yada, yada..............

False assumption. I haven't seen a single negative comment about eating healthy, taking vitamins, etc. -- except when presented as some magickal panacea by yourself. No one is "angry" about that.

What we are angry about is uneducated people like you blaming the mortality and morbidity from a pandemic on "poor immune systems." You're more than welcome to pretend to know everything when it comes to your own body. Don't you dare presume to lecture and blame the rest of us for this plague.

I’m healthy as a horse, dumbfuck. I’m merely pointing out your ignorance on who contracts viruses and who doesn’t.

I’m 66 and have no problem with a 5 mile run. That’s this year, as I’ve been a little lazy. Last year, double that and more. I have a very balanced diet. I don’t eat fast food. I don’t smoke. I don’t drink. I also don’t recall the last time I was sick.

Keep floundering, though. It’s amusing.

What is the defense warrior of the human body...cells, blood, bones, tissue, etc.?
The immune system.

I was speaking about so many are fighting being healthy. It's a new concept to some in here.
