Death by Corona numbers explode to 61

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Oh, probably more government regulation to protect the nation for another thing that threatens us. IOW, more socialism in our hybrid capitalist/socialist economy. And another reason to tax the rich more to pay for it.

Let's hope that's not the direction they go.

Hello Flash,

Because it's been all over the news that the president had advance warning of this in January, and instead of taking prompt decisive action, he sat on it, mocked it, denied it and claimed it was a Democratic hoax as late as Feb 26th. So now the damage-control has to belittle the Coronavirus and try to pretend it's not as bad as it really is.

Agreed, but that's his pattern of behavior. What surprised me is that he put Pence in charge and that Pence has been doing a great job resolving the problems.

Sure, Trump rambles around a lot but it's Pence who doing the work as leader of the nation.

Are you taking less precautions today than you did for other types of flu or are you being more careful than in the past (like this winter)?

I am not sure of the point of comparing this to other outbreaks. I haven't heard anybody claim it is worse than Swine flu or H1N1 and the media has carried fewer stories of cononavirus (14 million) than Swine (56 million) or H1N1 (30 million). Conservative posters keep citing figures telling us there are fewer cases and deaths than previous strains, but I haven't heard anybody argue otherwise. Whether it will increase rapidly is something nobody knows.

Why do you keep talking about previous outbreaks? It seem you are arguing with a strawman.

It is putting this hysteria in perspective you dishonest twit.

CDC estimate of global H1N1 pandemic deaths: 284,000
59 million Americans contracted the H1N1 virus, 265,000 were hospitalized as a result, and 12,428 died

Keen insight. How is it that you are able to penetrate his psyche and report on all his pathologies in such great and specific detail? It was before me yet I could not see that he is spineless, stupid, old, hopeless all because he toiled in menial work his entire life.

Nothing too spectacular; just a lot of practice dealing with low-life douchebags. :)

Did you think others did not see it in perspective? You keep telling us stuff we all knew or quickly learned.

Are you taking the same, more, or less precautions than you took during those outbreaks? Be honest although I know it is hard for you

It's apparent most of you know little and learned nothing. It bears constant repeating until it sinks into those tiny little brains.

You won't see me doing anything I wasn't already doing during flu season. You wouldn't know honest if it slapped your thick empty skull. ;)

Well, how are we supposed to gauge this outbreak without comparing it to past [or present, for that matter] outbreaks.

I don’t understand the question.

We got it the first time. We still think it is irrelevant to anything other than trying to divert attention from current issues.

The economy never had to shut down during the outbreaks during Obama.

The DJIA didn't take a nose-dive.

3M people didn't lose their jobs in a week.

No multi-trillion stimulus needed.

So why is this crisis different from those?

POOR CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP THAT YOU PERSONALLY VOTED FOR, SUPPORTED, CODDLED, AND PROTECTED.

Last week, Teflon Don (who is strangely absent from the boards right now) was bragging that there were only 4000 cases. Now it looks like we will reach that many dead by Wednesday.

Is there a need to compare it to the the past outbreaks? If so, we don't need it repeated endlessly since I haven't seen anybody challenge the numbers. It doesn't make the current outbreak any less serious for our current health.

Why is it only Trump supporters who think it is important to endlessly give us previous numbers?

That's a good question.

Why is it important for Trump haters to ignore past history?

WE??? Who the fuck do presume to be talking FOR you pompous presumptuous twit?

All the posters who see through the constant postings of numbers of past outbreaks as nothing but diverting from current issues by posters who are afraid current health and economic problems might affect President Trump's reelection and need to divert attention to irrelevant matters.

Cause that was Trump's deflection in January, February, and up until mid March, actually, Trump, Fox, and certainly all the demagogues, no worse than the common flu, is kinda funny how Trumpkins here are still sticking to it

STFU, seriously. Trump is not at risk for re-election. It's the loony left and the PHONY media who are hopeful thousands more will die as they try to pin the blame on Trump.

It is despicable; but that pretty much defines the left and the PHONY media these days.
