Top US doctor says coronavirus now an ‘outbreak,’ possibly a ‘pandemic’

Why are his taxes of concern if the IRS hasn't found any problems? What relevance does it have?

Doris is not too compos mentis these days, poor dear. I was always told that the IRS is feared in the US as they can seriously fuck you up. However, apparently they are so inept and incompetent that even the likes of Doris knows he's a tax felon but they don't.

Frank, when you said that you worked on Wall Street, I thought you meant as a trader.

The term "traders" is normally reserved for the people who work on the floor...or in the pits. Not many of them. I was a broker...a stock broker for Bache...the second largest firm (to the Thundering Herd) on the street at the time. I enjoyed my time at that work...but in reality, it was a job for whores. Our time on the phones calling clients from our books was often referred to as "search and destroy" missions. The only way a broker makes money is when buying and selling is happening. When the market was bull...we looked like geniuses; when bear...we looked like chumps.

If you live below the poverty level, how can you be so happy?

If you have to ask a silly question like that...you would not understand the answer.

Trump's taxes might show who he got his money from and who he did business with. Trump has hidden that information from back when he first decided to run. it is obvious that he has significant things to hide.
It is also true that Trump said he would release his taxes many times and he did not. It is impossible to pretend he has nothing to hide.

The IRS is greatly feared here. They are ruthless and can screw you up for years, even if you have done nothing provably wrong.
They aren't as inept as you seem to think, though...

Why is it any of your business? Showing you his taxes won't do him a damn bit of good, you won't vote for him anyway. Piss off.

For a long time, I've been thinking that the Abomination probably lists very few charitable deductions...and that the ones he does list may not be real.

He's a cheapskate in capital letters...and he doesn't want to be found out.

Also...he is a con-man crook...and there is not way a guy like him wants investigative reporters doing what the IRS apparently is NOT doing.

We're probably never going to see those returns.

Um...alright.

Frank, I believe that 99.999% of Americans, if asked whether they would prefer to be wealthy or poor, would prefer to be wealthy, or at least well off.

I have never been poor but I see no benefit of being poor.

I have heard the comment, “I have been poor and I have been wealthy, I prefer wealthy.”

As I said...if you asked the question, you would not understand.

But...I am a VERY happy and content guy...VERY. Most of the ingredients in my happiness and contentment are not derived from stuff I buy.

I buy a lottery ticket from time to time...and if I hit a big prize, I doubt I would go in mourning over it. I am pretty sure I would delight in it. BUT MY HAPPINESS AND CONTENTMENT DOES NOT DEPEND ON BEING WELL-OFF.

Fact is, I know and am friends with people who are very wealthy (in my immediate family I have two millionaires)...and people who are even further lower on the poverty scale than I. There is no real relationship between the ones who are happy and content and the ones who are better off financially. In fact, several with limited income seem much happier and are much more content than some of those with abundant resources.

The biggest thing he's hiding is that he is nowhere near as wealthy as he claims. But it doesn't matter to his cultists; they've proven time and again that they will believe anything they're told. They're easily impressed by golden toilets and plastic wives and bombastic blustering and phony flag-hugging.

Ya know Frank, I'm a pretty happy guy myself. Yep, I hit a few speed bumps, especially 2 serious surgeries in the last year (survived them and are recovered now), but it's all good.
I am retired, finally have the car I wanted since I was a kid, I have more guns than I'll ever shoot (I spend a lot of time at the gun club), and especially, a lot of good friends and to top it all off, a good woman (and she's a hell of a good cook!!). So I'm quite content.

If I were rich? I'd buy a Top Fuel team and go drag racing :)

I’m sure you’ve been told the reason for politicians releasing their taxes.

I don't give a shit about tax returns. You don't hear me bitching to see anyone's taxes, do you?
If the IRS doesn't have a noose around their balls (or tits), what business is it of mine?
My taxes are none of your business. Theirs shouldn't be either.

Well, Frank, I do not understand.

Most Americans, including myself, believe in the “American dream.” Work hard and your children will be better off than you. That means better off financially. Americans don’t work hard to be worse off, financially.

Of course you can be poor and happy but I had rather be well off and very happy.

Two of my children are multimillionaires, my younger son will soon be. Inherited wealth (from their grandfather, love those generational skipping taxes, accounted for some of that wealth but not all). College degrees and good financial advisors and hard work are the catalysts for financial security

The idea that to be poor is noble is beyond silly, you know that, Frank.

Indeed.

The president submitted his Federal Financial Disclosure Report and only his tax lawyers and the IRS get to see his tax returns which are no indications of his wealth.
