My intent is not to attack your moral or religious paradigm but I have to ask you this. What is wrong with casual sex if it is between two consenting adults practicing safe sex? It may not align with your religious point of view but that doesn't necessarily make it wrong or immoral.

To me sex outside of marriage is wrong, immoral, and sinful even if they are two consenting adults, but that doesn't mean that I am going to try and force you or others to wait until marriage or anything like that. I can't separate my religious beliefs from my morals. For me personally I believe that The Lord gave me this one body and that it is meant for one man, and same for him. If the relationship is strong and I will spend the rest of this life and eternity with that man then waiting until we are married in the eyes of God is not that difficult to do.

The Birth Control Politically Correct Self Serving Cult would have us accept on blind faith that the World is "over-populated" and that the answer is the current state of reproduction based on the unquestioning worship of the God of Birth Control, and the rejection of all other competing religions.

On the other hand, the most intelligent and safest course going forward is to assume the exact opposite of "over-population" until the whole matter has been substantially investigated, discussed, analyzed, debated, and subjected to scientific method research in a spirit of open inquiry, NOT dominated by the Fascistic Politically Correct Nazis who long for yet another program of extermination, this time using Birth Control in place of the Gas Ovens.

Moving on, certain things we already know, such as that the entire Universe is constantly expanding, both arithmetically, and in terms of our discovering constantly that more of it exists, such that it could conservatively be postulated that the Universe can easily provide space and resources to support many, many, many Trillions of people.

Now as to there being other intelligent life in the Universe that also might need space and resources, we have no idea at this time that any such exists. It is increasingly likely that there is absolutely no other life, of any sort in the entire Universe other than ourselves. One calculation, out of many, and there are many, is that statistically there is no better than a 50-50 chance that we are totally alone.

Another calculation is that inasmuch as we have already looked for other life fairly intensively over a substantially long period of time, that it can be projectively concluded that the longer we look, the less and less chance there is, that we will find anything at all. No matter that some Fantasy Science Fiction writers make a lot of money continuing to make totally unsupported wild assumptions amounting to the Universe being full of people like us, this without any proof whatsoever that there is so much as a single bacterium out there anywhere.

Self-Serving totalitarian minded people in favor of Birth Control, work night and day making the case that it is unarguably good for all humanity, nations, communities, families, women, and individuals, for us to drastically exterminate most of our numbers, when much of the actual evidence would lead us to the exact opposite conclusion.

Fact is, despite the absolute growing total of people on earth, that a careful and dispassionate analysis of the demographic details of humanity would seem to indicate that humanity is actually headed toward extinction from a large array of causes and sources, and that these multiple threats of extinction are not only growing, but that their danger is geometric as they come from such a multiplicity of sources and directions.

These threats can be seen in a panorama of scenarios, where the planet itself, and all life on it, or perhaps just the human species, can easily be exterminated by natural forces such as: Volcanic, Seismic, Collision with other astral bodies, Solar change, Environmental, and over-Cooling or over-Heating of the Atmosphere. Then there are a litany of Viral threats that can exterminate either all life, or just the human species. Then there are Sentient threats from often projected alien life showing up from "out there" with evil intentions.

Then we have the ever present threat of a World War between allied human groups not averse to using genocidal weapons such as Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Electro-Magnetic. Add to this, life unfriendly Climate Change that can be generated either by natural sources, or developed by humans as a weapon against each other.

Then we have the rapidly growing dysgenic reproduction, which sees the human races going down the path of a biological de-evolution mode that heads humanity toward systematically becoming biologically unsustainable, increasingly unable to replicate itself. There are many, many other threats to human survival too numerous to cite. This is just a short list to wake people up sufficiently to get their heads out of the sand.

Finally, the selfish, self-serving Birth Control Fascist Holocaust Cult Mania, is in reality the greatest threat to all of us, and to human survival, either on this planet, or anywhere else.

What is needed is a sane comprehensive discussion that focuses on the intelligent managing of the real reproductive situation we find ourselves in. We need to stop being afraid to even discuss these wide ranging potential threats, and the full extended consequences of our reproductive practices, centered on Birth Control, which is likely part of the problem, not part of the solution.

The Problem is to get this whole discussion out of the Taboo Politically Correct Category Corner that it is now locked into, and get it out into the middle of public square in order to sort out our best way forward, minimizing risks, and maximizing opportunities.

Eternity? Are you a Latter Day Saint?

I'm not Mormon no, but I do believe in Heaven and so I also believe that after I die I will still be with my future husband and loved ones in Heaven.

I'm no denomination, because Jesus didn't approve of denominations, also they are a hotbed of religious bigotry which I hate. So if you were LDS that would be fine as long a you were not bigoted towards other religions and denominations. Jesus never attack any other religion, nor did the Israelites. They defended themselves, which is fine, but to gratuitously attack another religion or denomination is demonic. :good4u:

What about Matthew 22:30?

“At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” Matthew 22:30

I have been following this discussion and waiting for this verse to be brought up. While there is neither marriage or giving in marriage "at the resurrection" that tells me that no one gets married in heaven. If they are married now and both make it to heaven are they still married? According to this: they could be. No matter, I do think that we will have recognition in heaven. The rich man recognized Abraham and Lazarus...Lk. 16. There is so much we don't know about heaven and that our finite minds cannot comprehend but it is the desireable destination.

In context Jesus was being directly asked who a woman would be married to in Paradise should the current rules apply (7 brothers, if the first marries the woman but has no kids the next brother takes her to wife, and so on... Finally the woman dies, who would she be married to?)

His answer was the verse in question. She would not be married to any of them.

I realize that this doesn't mean you wouldn't hang with people you knew... but I asked about the LDS church because they do Eternal marriages for those people who are members. It wouldn't make it so you would no longer care about people you knew, at least I can't see how it would. I don't know I think of eternity much differently.

:dunno:

problematic.....no sorrow in heaven.....if you were expecting to be with a spouse eternally and upon arrival at the pearly gates you discovered they were not in fact a believer, wouldn't you be bummed out?......
