In my case private insurance pays for dental and things like a private hospital room and any home "appliances" such as wheel chairs, crutches, etc. Or one can get the public option which pays for drugs and things. If an employer has medical then one does not have to pay into the public option. In any case all hospital and doctor costs are paid in full and no contribution is necessary.
