Zimmerman was on the ground being punched when he shot Trayvon Martin

So he deserved to die, because he may have been beating Zimmerman's ass after having been accosted by an officious lil' cop wannabe with no authority?

You really need to learn a little circumspection, all I'm saying is that there is more to this case than what was initially released to the public. If he was really being attacked, why did he use a gun rather than a pepper spray, who knows.

so when the girlfriend on the cellphone heard shouts for help before the gunshots they weren't Trayvor's shouts, they were Zimmerman's?....

maybe zimmerman did not believe in the efficacy of pepper spray and felt that deadly force was the only way to go

One article stated that the father listened to the tapes when they were investigating and said the shouts of help were not from Trayvon.

I hate stuff like this. We don't have all the information, we wind up with guesses. Is Zimmerman being sacrificed on the alter of politically correct? I don't know.

I do know that if Zimmerman had followed the rules and training of the neighborhood watch organization, both of them would be alive now.

Sacrificed on the altar of politically correct? What the fuck does that even mean?

What if he really was defending himself but is destined for arrest due to the political environment? Would it be justice or sacrifice?

Again, I don't know. I hope, if he is arrested, he gets a fair jury. And I hope that some day we might actually know the truth.

Any way you really slice it, he stalked the guy; he cornered him; he instigated the confrontation, when 911 was telling him to back off.

If the kid did fight back, he had a right to do so, imo. And you shouldn't be allowed to shoot someone dead for hitting you.

So it's just P.C. nonsense for a guy who stalked, shot and killed a 17 year old kid armed with Skittles and an Arizona Iced Tea to be arrested? In any sane world, that's what would happen, but under the dumbass Florida law he'll probably skate.

We know enough of the truth to know that Zimmerman ought to be in fucking jail.

All of which I think I've covered previously. Other than the "you shouldn't be able to shoot someone dead for hitting you" thing, because you absolutely can use hands to "bless" somebody with lethal force. Both of them have a right to defend themselves, and I have repeatedly stated that had Zimmerman followed the rules and training of the neighborhood watch program Trayvon would be alive, but I do not believe that it is against the law not to follow their rules, just a bit stupid. Hence, I think negligent homicide would be the likely charge.

 How the heck could it be self defense when he pursued the victim? Get a grip.

I don't think he'll skate, I just don't think he'll be facing charges that he may face in other states.

Not really, we know enough of what one side has said to think it is an "outrage" that he isn't in jail, but we haven't heard the cops' side of things and may be surprised by information that isn't being provided at this time. I don't know what information it could be, as I am with you. I've wondered several times how he wasn't arrested that night, even if he was released later after investigation. People shouldn't die without some thorough investigation. People count.

Interesting. So nobody who goes after somebody they suspect to be a criminal can ever be seen as protecting their own lives if the tables turn and their life is in danger? That's just stupid.

Interesting? No, more like fascinating that you can be so obtuse. The kid ran, he tried to escape. The killer caught him. The victim fought back, to defend himself. How can the pursuer claim self defense?

Either his use of deadly force was justified or it wasn't. There is no in between. If his use of deadly force was justified, he is immune from prosecution under state law.

Actually, we do. A kid was walking home from a convenience store with Skittles and an iced tea, was pursued, confronted and ended up shot dead. The guy that pursued, confronted and shot him ought to be in jail.

All the way back on February 27th, the local Orlando Fox station interviewed the witness who dialed 911. Almost none of the thousands of articles since have mentioned any of the details described by the witness. Some, however, have attributed false statements to this witness. On March 16th, the Sanford police department released new details to the Orlando Sentinel. Once again, these details have been ignored or changed by the media.

The witness reports that George Zimmerman was on the ground and Trayvon is on top of him punching him.
The witness says that George Zimmerman was screaming and yelling for help.
Police arrive and find Zimmerman bleeding on his face and the back of his head. He also has had grass stains on his back. All this confirms the story told by Zimmerman and the witness.
Police play the 911 tape for Trayvon Martin's father, who tells police that the voice screaming is not the voice of his son.

If the above is true, I can understand the initial hesitation to arrest Zimmerman. But again, had he stayed in the car as told, Martin would be alive. While it may not be murder one by the legal definition, it is still an unjustified use of force. The article states that Martin was a 'towering 6'2" football player' which is just more sensationalistic crap:

1) because why mention height if you are not also going to mention weight? The kid was still 140lbs. Meaning he was a twig. That said, as pointed out to the liberal morons who also tried to use weight as if it meant anything, neither are really a be all end all in terms of someones fighting skills.

2) why mention he is a football player other than because some view it as a more violent sport? It is completely irrelevant.
