That's because it's all he does, outside of his blog where he attempts to convey something other than sewage course through his veins.

Don't worry.

Damo would find it difficult to carry on without the calming pictures of dogs in hats in which i specialise. There's not many people on the board with an extensive hat collection and the key to a canine rescue centre.

Let me explain what the British mean by "taking the piss" out of someone.

They want to throw around insults and such and then when it becomes obvious that they've stepped over the line of "decency", then they fall back on the old "I was just taking the piss out of fill in the blank and then to feign amazement that anyone would get upset over a "joke".
It gives them the out of not taking responsibility for their actions; because it's not really their fault that the other person didn't realize that they were just joking.
The liberals have adopted the same MO.

True that. I mean what would this world be without dog hats? Uncivilized, that's what it would be!

Can you imagine roving bands of uncivilized hatless dogs barking endlessly over their cold headedness? I wouldn't want to live in a world with cold-headed and uncivilized dogs barking endlessly... who would? And those ever smug cats snickering at the uncivilized wretches dogs would be would be an endless annoyance.
