You Know the Drug War Has Gone Too Far When . . .

Are you still working with troubled children? I've always admired you for that.

It doesn't matter how long you've "been here".
The majority of your threads contain "racial undertones" and it's obvious that you're nothing but someone who wants to blame the "MAN" for his plight in life.
Sucks to be you

The funniest thing about you posting this quote, is you are such a supporter of the police power had you been a brit in India in the 40s you would have been one of them beating the Indians.
That's a totally baseless accusation. I am for less central government, sovereignty for individual states and more personal freedom, and I always have been.

Again, I will defend this program. As can be seen by the sign-up rate most parents here don't want thier kids involved in drugs and this is just one other method for early detection....for their benefit as well as for the school's. Also as can be seen from the low number of positive tests, this along with other efforts seem to be working. Now if we could just come up with a way to curb the real problem......Alcohol.

I don't give a shit about the success of the program. If parents don't want their kids involved in drugs they can drug test them. The state shouldn't be in the business of randomly invading the privacy rights of students because their parents don't want to do it themselves.

I totally agree but where have you been on this? It's just surprising to see you so unaware of what is essentially the status quo. It's something that I just long ago accepted as one of the many infringements by the government on our constitutional rights. I grew up under that system and just accepted its infringements as one of the many freedoms we have lost to the State.

And that doesn't surprise me. I found out long ago that I disagree with most when it comes to mind-altering chemicals and adolescents (adults too for that matter). No big deal to me. We just disagree.

I've been opposing it all along. I reiterate my objection to it in response to lr's apparent belief that randomly testing kids is leaps and bounds better than strip searching them. I agree that it isn't equally pernicious, but is is still a pernicious practice.

I have gone over this before but for those that missed it:

The drug testing was initially a requirement for those students who participate in extracurricular activities....but then parents of the other students wanted their children to participate in the program. So we set that up and gave the parents of ALL students the option to sign up for the program. We have had a 100% sign up rate since implementing the program for all students back in 2001 and in that time we have had one positive test.

eh, if thats what it is.

Which makes my point about perhaps with this child being white, something may actually get done about it.

Students that attend school systems in the inner-cities are routinely violated even though statistics and studies show these students are no more likely to carry drugs or weapons than students in rural communities.

Drugs dogs in some schools are so common the students know the dog's name.
I would never vote for somebody that would subject your child to this kind of abuse of privacy. Nor do I choose to live in any place that would do this.

Many have no choice where they live and don't have the choice of private school either.

They depend on the law to protect them.

The politicians elected in those places need to lose their jobs, instead they are voted for by the same people you say are being subjected to this practice at a rate of 90% or more. They are the law, none of these people could hold the job they are elected to without them.

They've also watched good politicans attacked and destroyed for having the courage to speak the truth.

They vote for democrats because they KNOW republicans would be much worse. Hell, republicans might require a blood test and a fecal exam before any student is allowed in school.

Surely you're aware of the republican position on drug testing. Why would they vote for them?

Considering I live among them, I have first-hand knowledge. Funny how the Rs would "require" that but don't, while the D's "wouldn't" but do. Dogs are sniffing their asses, but it's all the same.

Don't cry to me when your politicians do what you say they won't, then blame that crap on me. I didn't do it, I wouldn't vote for the people who do this to you, even if they have an "R" by their name. Shoot, all it takes for me not to vote for an R is fiscal irresponsibility.

BTW - How do you reconcile the fight for these kids' individual freedom with your "better for society" approach to other's freedoms?

I don't give a damn about what the fuck you think "sucks" you idiot.

There is NO, ZERO, NADA, ZILCH, NYET doubt in my mind that I've lived a far more fulfilling life than your uneducated ass. :)

You're just an uneducated clown, completely out of your element.

All you have to offer is girlyman posts like these. Incapable of sanity or civil debate. :)

You'll have to excuse Oh Dumb Motherfucker .. I'm having much better conversations with people with brains .. just as I have long before your ignorant uneducated ass showed up.

:)

1. And yet you continue to grace me with your replies.
Odd that you haven't just STFU and STFD!!

2. And you go ahead and keep believing this, you obviously need your delusions:)

3. Well; you probably know more about "girlyman posts" then I would, seeing as how you appear to be the expert:kiss2:

4. You're then excused you; but could you describe your mother, because you could be corrrect and I have fucked her.:1up:
Just curious, how did you educate your ass?? Did you shove books up your ass and absorb them, or is it just where your brain is located??:mun:

...your mother, because you could be corrrect [sic] and I have fucked her....
Although BAC has resorted to attacks on my own mother (example here), I have not denigrated myself to his level. Since you and I agree on a lot of things I'd like you to consider following my example.

I would argue that they are sentenced more becasue more grow up without fathers:

That's the real problem and you should be addressing that instead of complaining about what happens in the criminal justice system.

With all due respect, and acknowledging that I have not read any later posts, this is like saying the real problem with segregated schools was that they were underfunded.

You cannot make an excuse for a travesty the government is committing against its own people, which is one we can stop, to a less preventable social reality that while unfortunate is not as simple as cause and effect.

The governmental travesty is the one that created a welfare state that awards unwed mothers and discourages fatherhood.

I hadn't planned on cyber fencing :duel: with him much longer.
It's not fair to engage one that is so obviously defensless. :whip:

He really is a good example of how ones thoughts and feelings control ones actions. :nuke:
It is go bad that he is such a racist though.

Like when Strom Thurmond got a teenage girl pregnant and then abandoned her to raise the child by herself instead of marrying her and being a father to his child.

Yes, like that. Although he contributed cash, the child grew up without a nurturing father.

Washington-Williams, a 79-year-old retired teacher, came forward in December 2003 to tell the world that she was the daughter of Strom Thurmond. His family publicly confirmed he had fathered the child, who was born when he was 22 and her mother was 16. ...

Essie Mae grew up mainly with an aunt and uncle in a steel mill town not far from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She did not learn of her natural mother's existence until she was 13 and of her natural father's identity until she was 16, when her mother took her to meet him at his law office. In later years, Washington-Williams had frequent occasions to visit with him, and he quietly contributed support in cash over the years. In some corners, their relationship was an open secret.
