And that sucks, beyond belief.
 
There is absolutely nothing that makes it okay to strip search my daughter at a school, they are not the executive branch, they did not have a search warrant, they didn't even have reasonable means of suspecting an illegal substance, ibuprofen is not illegal.

I can't express enough that there will be no way I would subject my daughter to such a danger based solely on the word of another child and in such a place.

Nothing at all can make this okay, Beyer be damned.

This is going to be a close one. Souter and Breyer seem likely to rule in favor of the school officials. Strip Search Sammy Alito is a no-brainer. Kennedy will take the mushy middle and vote in favor. That leaves just one of Roberts, Thomas, Ginsburg and Scalia needed . . .

I'm not hopeful.

here's hoping that ginsburg still has some maternal instinct left in her. I'm not holding out any hope yet on Thomas. He's very big on privacy rights.

I'm not worried about Ginsburg and its got nothing to do with "maternal instinct." I'm most worried about Roberts. So far he has consistently rule in favor of the government in this type of case.

yeah, roberts hasn't seen a school policy against students rights that he's ever disliked. I still remember how disgusted I was with him over the 'bong hits 4 jesus' banner case.

Grad School- New York.
