You guys were right; hyperinflation on its way

LOL. And here we have what I call the uscitizen-style "prediction". If at any point in the future there is inflation, then they will be right. If they say it long enough there will be inflation.

Except those who are predicting inflation are predicting it in the near future and point to the periods of deflation before the higher inflationary periods to show that current deflation is not indicative of permanent deflation or that high inflation is not on the near horizon.

I'm personally in a wait and see mode. I like deflation so long as my salary doesn't follow it down, it makes my money worth more.

No, their prediction was run-away hyper inflation. They made this prediction at a time of DEFLATION. That's the very definition of "facts optional."

Again, in the near future. But I understand you assertion. As I said, I am of no opinion. I can see it going either way.

Also, if you have any debt then it makes your net worth less.
Yes, it makes the equity less, hence I do not want my salary to change. I will owe just as much on my house even if the value deflates. I'm willing to continue to pay the mortgage I agreed to.

so no hyper inflation has ever occurred during a time of deflation....are you actually claiming that deflation cannot cause hyper inflation....and that no hyper inflation ever followed a period of deflation

That's what the Japanese said in 1998. Prices are going down? That's awesome! Except their wages went down too. And the economy was stagnant for an additional decade.

Again. Hence the line...

Forget it. If you can't see it there is no need to repeat it a third time. *hint* the line I'm talking about included the words "as long as" and the words "my salary doesn't follow it"...

You narrow minded idiot. Deflation is bad for debtors. When their wages go down they'll owe just as much.

Hey dweebus.

What part of "as long as my salary doesn't follow it" was difficult for you to understand? (Fourth repetition).

"The ideas of economists and political philosophers, both when they are right and when they are wrong, are more powerful than is commonly understood. Indeed, the world is ruled by little else. Practical men, who believe themselves to be quite exempt from any intellectual influences, are usually the slaves of some defunct economist. Madmen in authority, who hear voices in the air, are distilling their frenzy from some academic scribbler of a few years back. I am sure that the power of vested interests is vastly exaggerated compared with the gradual encroachment of ideas.. But, soon or late, it is ideas, not vested interests, which are dangerous for good or evil." John Maynard Keynes

If you listen to Fox pseudo news you'd think the end was near. How bizarre that news should change after an election. It makes one wonder at the creation of a reality that so many follow and believe.
