If we were talking about men's bodies rather than women's bodies...this discussion would not even be taking place, because all the assholes arguing that the woman should not be able to choose abortion would be arguing "of course a guy can have an abortion."

As for your worker friend...fuck him. The pregnancy was occurring in HER body...not his. If she asks him for advice...fine. If she doesn't...he butts the hell out.

and slaughter it on the beach. It's only life trying hard to survive in a heavenly designed sanctuary of supposed safety and protection
as it matures towards birth. It's a separate life before birth and a separate life after birth.

The "unique situation" of a female human being or animal is to protect her young at all cost while they are developing and
after they are born. The problem with the women around now is that they've traded the female instincts for manliness.

That's fine and well, but there's another aspect to this that isn't discussed much.

In a lot of jurisdictions, child support is something the woman has all the say in, with the man basically being at the mercy of the woman regarding wage garnishing. If the woman should have the last say in abortion, then the man should have the last say in child support. A guy should have the ability to sign away his visitation and custody rights in exchange for not having to pay child support. Only certain jurisdictions allow this. In a lot of other areas, the woman can demand that the man pay up, regardless of his wishes.

The contraceptive pill was on the market in the US in the early 1960s. Roe vs Wade was in 1973.

Abortion is a very ugly thing, morally speaking and, at ANY stage of pregnancy. And you are right that the American abortion industry exploded in the years after Roe vs Wade; countless millions of abortions have been performed in the US since 1973.

I don't understand why women in the US who are sexually active, can't just use some effective/safe form of contraception if they don't want to become pregnant; like an IUD or "the Pill"?

I do not even kill spiders in my house. I catch and release them outdoors. My wife understands that I do not intend to do any killing...and sometimes takes matters into her own hands.

I personally would probably never choose abortion...if I were a woman and if I were pregnant.

BUT I THINK A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE A CHOICE IN THE MATTER...and I think that choice should prevail over some asshole like you who wants to make personal choices for others. I understand that assholes like you think you have that right...even that obligation.

I suspect it has something to do with religion.

It is my opinion that a woman with a pregnancy occurring in her own body should have the right to terminate that pregnancy if she chooses. It further is my opinion that she should be able to do that termination safely...with the assistance of a doctor.
