After two centuries+ of any White House event exceeding 200 people in attendance forcing WH guests to sit/stand/dance under tents, often with wet/muddy conditions, We the People will now have a venue worthy of the home of the POTUS.

Not only that, but it is being funded by the current POTUS, and various private donors, as an amazing GIFT to America, future Presidents, and We the People.

Despite this, the constant ass-rash left s bitching about it...naturally.

Thank you, Pres. Trump.

Trump confirms demolishing White House's entire East Wing

Trump confirmed Wednesday that the White House's iconic East Wing is being torn down in its entirety to make way for a huge $300-million ballroom -- a far more extensive demolition than previously announced.

Trump told reporters at an Oval Office event that he had decided after consulting architects that "really knocking it down" was preferable to a partial demolition.

So?
Wanna make an omelet, ya gotta break some eggs.

Yeah - I definitely remember hearing voters clamoring for this all through the campaign.
Voters aren't being forced to pay for it, are they?
Once again: After two centuries+ of any White House event exceeding 200 people in attendance forcing WH guests to sit/stand/dance under tents, often with wet/muddy conditions, We the People will now have a venue worthy of the home of the POTUS.

Sorry that makes you unhappy.

So, you must have been posting quite a bit about it before now, right? If it was such a huge need?

Can anyone find a thread on this board saying we needed a ballroom before now?
Irrelevant. But, instead of bitching about the need for more event space, (like Obama) , Trump FIXES IT.

From Google AI:

For generations, presidents have lamented the White House's inadequate event space, which has forced the use of tents for large functions on the South Lawn. For example, the largest indoor event space, the East Room, can only accommodate around 200 people for a seated dinner. To address this long-running issue, the Trump administration announced in 2025 that it would demolish the East Wing and build a new, larger ballroom.
Complaints from previous administrations
Several presidents and White House staff have commented on the lack of event space over the years:
  • Barack Obama: Held state dinners on the South Lawn using temporary tents for larger guest lists, such as the dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2009. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recalled that Obama "complained" about having to use a very expensive tent for a state visit during his tenure.

Obama = Talker

Trump= Doer.

It absolutely makes sense. YOU started this thread. Obviously, a ballroom was a big need, right?

And yet, this is the 1st time I'm hearing most MAGA's talking about it.
Why would I have to have been posting about it previously? As I said....makes no sense whatsoever.

VIP guests of State in the wet grass and mud presents a big need, yes.

I didn't know we could fix it...and now here we are....fixing what previous POTUS' only bitched about.

And?
