you'll notice the first sentence in rule 12b is "with the exception of a mature discussion involving stats, news.. etc etc"

I even used in an example in one of seahawks threads it can be talked about in historical or mature contexts, so desh is fine in this instance. What the catholics did was in the news and it's a relevant cultural discussion, not a flamewar.
