Yeah....its a choice

The claim that the myth was busted implies new information. But, whatever, he has not even presented old information in a clear and accessible form.

Yes, the idea that his opinion is factual or based on science. The guy is a hack with an agenda.

Personally, I don't give a crap whether it is genetic or not. It's interesting and worth understanding from a scientific perspective, but it will not affect my political views either way. You are not born Christian and we still allow people to practice that immoral lifestyle.

Lol

Vanilla is homophobic, that is his agenda.

Eight major studies of identical twins in Australia, the U.S., and Scandinavia during the last two decades all arrive at the same conclusion: gays were not born that way.

“At best genetics is a minor factor,” says Dr. Neil Whitehead, PhD. Whitehead worked for the New Zealand government as a scientific researcher for 24 years, then spent four years working for the United Nations and International Atomic Energy Agency. Most recently, he serves as a consultant to Japanese universities about the effects of radiation exposure. His PhD is in biochemistry and statistics.

Professor Rana, this is the conclusion following a scientific study by a prominent scientist, a very intelligent man.

Why you're nothing but ignorant, you're nothing but a heterophobe, closed minded bigot.

Now aren't you professor?

I would like to review the data of these studies, if you could provide them, thanks, or the names of the studies so I may see the peer reviewed data.

Choice is a misnomer in this instance. Just because it may not be genetic, does not mean one actively chooses. I didn't actively choose to find white women unattractive, for example.

Yeah, I'll have to agree with Grind. This isn't an issue of whither homosexuality is a choice, it's a matter of whither we as a society can cope with different. Whither it's race, religion, mental disorders/diseases/syndromes, sexuality, or otherwise, we've been historically been really bad at doing this. Personally, I don't care if homosexuality is a choice, but it'll be a great stride forward if we can accept it.

Generic denials void of even a shred of specifics

I sure hope there's a gay gene. Then we can develop a pre-natal test and get rid of homos before they're even born. Better draw up legislation declaring unborn homosexuals to be persons so they can't be aborted.

Like eugenics now, do ya?

Eugenics is a progressive policy. But surely people don't want to have a gay child. So I could see people aborting rather than giving birth to a queer. My guess is the queer lobby would become pro life overnight and be Todd Akin supporters.

I bet you could....I hope you have a litter of them.

I was specific. Whitehead does not appear to have any publications in the field and is aligned with an organization that is promoting treatment of homosexuals. He clearly has an agenda. The only study mentioned is an OPPOSITE SEX twin study, not identical twins.

Not necessarily. Just because it may be genetically influenced does not mean we can test for it prenatally.

Besides it would probably lead to abortion of homophobes. I mean, I doubt parents that would raise their kids to be comfortable with their sexuality would then abort a fetus that may be identified as gay. But Larry Craig's, DY's and ILA's moms probably would have aborted them.

I'm sure your parents wish you'd been an abortion instead of what you are.
