I figure nobody took me up on the bet so there is no need to permaban myself. Yes, I got the prediction monumentally wrong. I completely underestimated the stupidity of the American electorate. Although I did not underestimate the stupidity of the establishment GOP who hasn't apparently learned its lesson nominating moderates like Dole, McCain and Romney. Now they think they need to moderate even more. Apparently 3 million republicans staying away from the polls wasn't a loud enough message. If they don't mind being the minority party, I won't stand in their way.

actually he didn't take any positions. I am sure that many conservatives felt the way that I did in that we couldn't trust him. He made it very clear while running for Senator in Taxachussetts that he was pro life. He has taken a multitude of anti conservative positions over the years. I don't blame Romney, although if the stories are true about this ORCA software botching their GOTV campaign then the stupid fuck deserves to lose on sheer incompetence. I blame the GOP establishment that still hasn't gotten the message. Conservatism wins when it is on the ballot. It wasn't on the ballot. There were no sharp contrasts between Romney and Obama. As I feared during the primary the #1 issue that drove the 2010 election (Obamacare) was taken off the table. It never came up during the campaign. Romney probably took too much for granted thinking republicans would vote against Obama, but the left learned that painful lesson in 2004. You can't beat something with nothing.

People argue that the GOP field was weak, but I argue each and everyone was better than Romney because they could have rallied the base and this was a base election.

The GOP gets what they deserve. And the idiot Americans that voted for four more years of this shit get what they deserve as well. I wish I could say I feel sorry for them, but I don't

On Wednesday, I called our cleaning lady and landscaper and let them go. Too bad for them, but elections have consequences.

Every Republican showed up the polls.

Republicans were even successful in keeping people away from the polls or making them get out of long lines before they voted.

Cheaters never prosper.

But now is the time to support your duly elected president.

You weren't just wrong - you were extremely wrong. In a bad, bad way. Please try not to post more than 7-8 threads a day. It really messes up the board.

Funny, whenever you demalquedacrats lose do you ever say you were extremely wrong? Did you say that in 2010?

I seem to remember that you said "we just didn't get our message out".

Now, I am saying why I think the GOP lost. You can agree or disagree. There are others in the GOP that don't agree. It is up to them to decide which direction to take the party. If I agree with it, I will support it. It is clear they are losing conservatives. So it is their choice. They can follow you guys to defeat or they can lead.
