may 17 2017 A dean at Yale University who championed cultural sensitivity has apologized for her “insensitive” Yelp reviews of restaurants, gyms and movie theaters, including hot takes on what “white trash” customers would find tasty and employees she blasted as “barely educated morons.”

June Chu, dean of Yale’s Pierson College, apologized for the offending reviews, which had been circulating among students for several months, after the Yale Daily News published screenshots on Saturday.

“To put it quite simply: If you are white trash, this is the perfect night out for you!” Chu wrote in one review of a Japanese restaurant. “This establishment is definitely not authentic by any stretch of any imagination and perfect for those low class folks who believe this is a real night out. Over salted and greasy food. Side note: employees are Chinese, not Japanese.”

Yale College Dean Jonathan Holloway said he and other administrators decided Chu should email students after they wrestled “with how to do the right thing,” he told the Yale Daily News.

“I’ve not asked for her resignation, and neither has [Pierson College Head Stephen Davis],” Holloway said. “She’s terribly sorry, and I think she’s doing exactly the right thing by saying, I’ve learned from this, I want to stand by all of you and I hope that you’ll stand by me as well.”

Speaking as a college educated professional person who strives for precision in language, I personally think "barely educated moron" and "white trash" in this context are not meant to be offensive. I believe they are reasonably accurate, plausible, and entirely fair characterizations of the typical Donald Drumpf voter.
 
A couple of thoughts on this thread which I was initially going to ignore

1) her attitude is indicative of liberals in general and a very big reason Donald Trump won (liberals will never understand). As I have said previously, liberals just don't disagree with their political opponents they feel morally superior to them. Liberals feel only they are the most educated because they believe the right things and if you don't agree with them you must not be educated. If you were educated you would agree with them.

2) the stupid twat should not be fired if you believe in free speech. Now if this was a white male dean, I do get that if he wrote a Yelp review saying " the fried chicken and chitkins would bring MLk back to life" the left would be in high alert calling for his ouster

It's been shown a number of working class whites who voted for Obama previously voted for Trump this time. Cypress' comment is a perfect example of how liberals feel about these type people. If they vote democratic liberals will give lip service about caring about them but this is opinion of them at the core.

HAHAHA. Your tiny little brain doesn't understand free speech. If the govt threw her in prison for saying this, that would violate free speech. But if her employer fires her that does NOT violate free speech. THINK, you miserable white-hating racist.
 
This is similar to the way chris matthews has made a career of calling white people "crackers" on national tv and nothing is ever done to him. Bill maher has done the same.
