Any one want to take a guess? I will update the initial post with the answer later.

The reason is really simple. They are both object lessons as to what happens when you work with the trump admin to keep jobs and what happens when you dont.

Look at the stock price of Sprint (soft bank) and Boeing. Right after Trump's announcement for Soft Bank Sprints stock price rose. Right after Trump hit Boeing their stock price dropped. Estimates say they lost 1-2 billion in value.

recall that trump will be meeting with a group of CEO's shortly as well. Anyone think this lesson is lost on them?

Some people will say that the loss of the stock value is only temporary and will recover in a day or a week or so, which is 100% correct. You don't want to do lasting harm to the company anyway. Merely to prove that you can cause their stock to drop if needed. Corporate shareholders don't like that whether temporary or not.

This will them be used to generate more favorable trade deals for the US and as an incentive for companies to avoid outsourcing. Basically bully pulpit tactics :)
