oct 27 2023 Newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has spoken out about his adopted Black son, Michael, after questions were raised online about their relationship.

Johnson's office issued a statement to Newsweek on Friday morning.

"When Speaker Johnson first ran for Congress in 2016, he and his wife, Kelly, spoke to their son Michael—who they took in as newlyweds when Michael was 14 years old," said Corinne Day, communications director for Johnson.

"At the time of the Speaker's election to Congress, Michael was an adult with a family of his own. He asked not to be involved in their new public life. The Speaker has respected that sentiment throughout his career and maintains a close relationship with Michael to this day."

It is not exactly clear what Johnson did for Michael, but it was probably positive. At times he seems to indicate Michael was not legally adopted. Maybe he was a mentor, or foster parent to Michael. Michael is now about 40 years old, only slightly younger than the 51 year old Johnson. Johnson loves showing pictures of his family, but there are no Black sons in any of those pictures.

According to Johnson, Michael does not want to be involved with Johnson's current career, and does not have the last name Johnson. We do not know Michael's last name. I doubt Johnson would completely make up Michael, but we have no evidence Michael even exists beyond Johnson's claims about him.

It is crazy that you are claiming Texting Driver is a "leftist." You would have a better chance denouncing his brand of right wing thinking.

So on Friday, Johnson's office said that Michael was never legally adopted, and that he may have never resided with Johnson. Basically, Michael was locked out of the better schools that Johnson could have gotten him into.

Why is it crazy? I simply asked if Jonson's religious beliefs are another of his hateful and bigoted leftist beliefs.

I've already said he does have the occasional spark of a common sense conservative.

I'm not sure why this is even an issue...the OP is ridiculous...but then, so are the questions about how this young man's life unfolded...
