Would the US be better off if we permitted the South to succeed from the Union?

I say we dump the northeast... they just create financial crises and political turmoil. Everything north of the southern border of DC, all of PA... and what the hell, we will toss in OH... that way the Northeastern elitists have someone to keep looking down on.

That's enough to lower the IQ of the states remaining 100pts. average.

Just take all the teabagger idiots like SF and move them to Texas. The rest of the country will also smell a lot better.

So vile of you Howey.

1) I am not, nor have I ever been a member of a tea party group.
2) CO is one of the most educated states in the nation (second only to MA) and we are consistently the fittest state in the nation (we believe in taking care of ourselves)

Economically, clearly we would be better off. As a son of the South, and having been educated at Auburn University... Id say we would lose out on a lot.

The largest producer of CEO's of fortune 500 Companies, including the worlds largest company ever, Apple Computer, is Auburn University.

Some of my favorite places are in the south. Key West, Savannah, Charleston SC, New Orleans.

Florida is not really part of the South, and Id be okay with keeping the liberal enclaves of Charleston and New Orleans, even Savannah.
