Just realistic; this is as bad a recession as we have had in decades. Reading the news over the past few months, I would have been surprised if the map showed any areas that were untouched by it at this point.
I read a pretty optimistic article this morning - more & more economists are seeing a quicker end & stronger rebound than they were seeing even a month ago. Some were even saying this summer, but most were thinking sometime this year....
I see where Soros told Reuters that the economy is in for a lasting slowdown and could face a Japanese style period of relatively low growth with the added problem of high inflation. He also said that rescuing US banks could turn them into zombies that suck the life-blood of the economic slowdown. He could be right.
Damn. Industrial production is way down in the deep south.
I would bank on it, he has made money when the rest of us are losing it and he as warned about this impending economic doom for some time now.
I have started to track what Warren and him are investing in these days!
