World trade and my computer

In Indianapolis, we see, increasingly, that what our experts call "Food Deserts" are cropping up and expanding.

ANOTHER Walgreens closed in an area in which it was victimized by apparently uncontrollable theft.

Super markets in the inner city are rare.

The ongoing and expanding removal of police protection from aggrieved communities coupled with the poorly thought out programs from do-gooder morons in government is to blame.

There seems to be a concerted effort to de-criminalize criminality by folks in government that think criminals are victims and victims are to blame.

I was born in indianapolis!

Beech Grove area. Is that still the punk/artsy awesome area?

You can't get your computer. We all used to be able to get a computer off the shelf on the day we wanted to buy it. Now the wait is increased from minutes to months.

Once you are talking about a made to order computer, you are dealing with a computer that can not just be bought off the shelves. There are something like 50 possible options, and Apple is just not going to keep them all on the shelves. That has all been true for 15 years or so.

You seemed to be concerned with the wait for your computer at this point in time. I thought that perhaps you were noting the delay because it seemed unusual to you.

I ordered one of the new Macbook Pro's in early March. The delivery date was set for the unusually far away April 20th. Then with lockdowns, it was shifted to "June 7 - June 22". May was completely skipped over.

Apparently the workers in China have not even been allowed to go back to their onsite dorms, and are getting angry. They have smashed down barricades, and attacked police. China is not a country that tolerates attacks on police, so this is bad.

People I know at Apple say that it is worse than the news is reporting. Obviously, my computer is unimportant compared to the human beings involved, but it is a way to personalize it to me.

There’s also a shortage of baby food...a food shortage, Walter.
