Did I say that??
Of course you could always post a quote from Khomeini that supports the suggestion that Iran just wanted to make Carter look bad.
That's why I'm asking.
Are you unable to articulate an answer?

Oh - and here you go:
http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/27/world/ac-six-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-iran-hostage-crisis/
"The Iranians had a deep hatred of Carter and wanted to deny him this last moment of victory as President."
There are literally hundreds of articles on this if you search online. It's hilarious that you didn't know this.
LOL!
One post too late, USF. You're losing - badly.

You do realize or maybe you don't, that everyone one of them is the OPINION of someone else.
Where's the comment from Iran, at the time period, that supports the assertion that the reason it was done, was to make Carter look bad.
Do you think Americans should elect their president based on the views of other world leaders?
Nah - it was very well known & accepted fact when it happened. I don't think you're a student of history, or much that is political. You just come here to post emoticons.
Iran isn't going to issue a statement saying "we wanted to stick it to Carter." You don't seem to understand much about how these things work.

So you have no "statement"; but you want to put forth your "assumption" as FACT.![]()

No we should do the Opposite of what the world wants. Most of the world either hates us, or resents us, or is envious. They WANT us to have a WEAK leader, so they can advance.
They don't want another strong Reagan type leader. They want us to fail.
Because it was so universally known.
Like I said - hundreds of articles if you search it. The Iranians hated Carter. You call those articles "opinion," but at a certain point, the facts are obvious.
I see you're still terrified to articulate your own position.

So they hated Carter but we're ok with Reagan ?
I'm sure they respected Reagan more and knew that their game was over.
I'd go so far as to suggest that they were motivated by FEAR of what may happen, if they don't capitulate.
Oh, man - did you just say "so sad, too bad"?
Oh, my.
