We are usually far more sensible that you lot in the US of A but this kind of patronising crap makes me wonder somewhat!!

  • No freshers turned up to the hour-long session at Clare College
  • Women's officer at college said it felt like a 'huge step backwards'
  • York University students staged walkout in protest at classes this month

They are the university workshops designed to inform new students about sexual consent in an effort to tackle the rising number of assaults on campus. But in a sign of a growing backlash against such events, not a single fresher attended an hour-long session at a top Cambridge college. The angry women’s officer at Clare College later posted pictures of the empty auditorium on social media and lambasting freshers for snubbing the event. She described the move as a ‘huge step backwards’.

The women’s officer at Clare College, Cambridge, posted pictures of an empty auditorium on social media, after no freshers turned up to a sexual consent workshop

In a post to accompany the picture of the empty venue, she complained: ‘This is the number of Clare College freshers who thought it worth their time to show up to the consent workshops this morning, who thought that an hour out of their morning in Freshers’ Week was too much to ask.’ The post was later deleted. Earlier this month, students at York University staged a walkout in protest against consent classes.

I believe that young men are finally fighting back after years of being told that they are all potential rapists and must be re-educated. It is precisely this kind of patronising bullshit and years of dealing with lunatics like Darla that finally made me realise that gender feminists are incredibly dangerous people.

Rape on campus is rampant in the U.S. You don't have that problem over there?

Is it? I know that gender feminists say that but then they lie all day long. No, we don't have an epidemic of campus raping over here. I went to uni in the 70s and I only heard of one case in 3 years and that was highly dubious as well. My sons left uni recently and they could recall any rapes being reported whilst they were there. I also have a daughter in law and she says the same thing.

Well...Europe has a much less 'sexually repressed' society than the U.S does.

Just because nobody hears about it, or it isn't reported, does not mean that sexual predation does not occur quite often on campus.

Sure...girls get drunk, or do drugs at frat parties. That doesn't mean they consent to sexual advances by default.

So how do you know, if it isn't reported then? Gender feminists need to constantly make up shit like rape culture unfortunately for them the facts don't fit with the hyperbole.

Everyone should have the balls to stand up for what they believe in. And it’s more important than ever that women refuse the increasingly popular victim politics of feminism, which paints women as weak and incapable of looking after themselves. Southern hits the nail on the head when she criticises consent classes, another popular college initiative aimed at teaching students about when they are and aren’t consenting to sex: ‘People who rape know what consent is, they just choose not to follow it.’

The rape-culture panic, and the way in which it is now being backed by education initiatives and lawmakers, should be met with hostility by all those who believe in the freedom of the individual and freedom from the state. Southern, unnerved by opposition and willing to make a stand for what she believes in, is one of the few really taking the fight for freedom on. More power to her.

Oh OK, the old absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence argument. I know it well!

What makes you think it isn't reported? Every college attempts to get the victim to keep the investigation 'in house'. Heaven forbid a panic occurs, and nobody wants to attend the institution.

Are you seriously trying to make the case that women don't suffer at the hands of predators in college?

No and I never said that. I just don't believe that there is a huge swathe of rapists on campuses although I can see why gender feminists would lie and distort the facts. By the way, I don't believe there are fairies at the bottom of my garden either.

Well, I don't think that serial rapists enroll in college for the 'easy pickins'. Many of these rapists are scholar athletes who have been groomed a lot like Trump, who think they're entitled to take what they want. And...many girls might fawn over them, as has been happening forever.

That doesn't mean that they are required to submit to unwanted sexual advances.

Then, there are quite a few socially awkward boys who don't know how to approach girls. These are the type who might take advantage of a girl who passed out at a party. They might not even plan it that way, but it happens often. There was just an uproar over a judge who let a swimmer off with probation in such a case.

Right, so you highlight a few individual cases and from that extrapolate to a situation where a rape culture is prevalent. I was actually talking about this to some young guys in the changing room of the university pool where I go to swim. I asked them if the university had a madcap policy like Cambridge and they said no, in fact they all said that it would be boycotted by them anyway if they tried. This is why I detest Clinton so much, she will introduce shed loads of barmy PC inspired legislation, you know that is true.
