I don't know much about Thatcher and even less about May, but Thatcher was hawkish so how does that make her better than Hillary? Over 900 people died in the Falklands War. Cons here bitch about four dying in Benghazi.

See, women try to act tough but at the end of the day they are just weak fragile little children. Same phenomenon exists before our eyes on jpp where the women will try to get all rough and tumble with the boys but when push comes to shove they get offended and whine and and cry like the little girls they are. This dichotomy permeates our society. We let women role play play politician now and then. But face it, you can't cry like a little bitch when you lose and claim you would have been a tough strong president and leader.

I have always wondered why so many people on the Left were vociferously against the Falklands War. To my mind, it was a simple binary choice, do you confront an extreme right wing junta that killed tens of thousands of their own people or just roll over? We chose the former and should be congratulated for that not castigated.

Margaret Thatcher quite rightly was heavily criticised before the war for giving the Argentinians the impression that we were blasé about the Falklands. The naval cuts including the axing of HMS Endurance sent the wrong signals to the Galtieri fascists and they made full use of it. She vindicated herself wonderfully by recapturing the Falklands and I applaud her for that. Not least in getting rid of a despot like Galtieri, for which the Argentinian people should be eternally grateful.
