Woman driving corvette 155 mph kills father of two. Liberals are silent

It's fucking Arizona or wherever, TDAK.
If you can't drive fast there, where can you drive fast?

People who ride motorcycles know that they're subject to being mangled.
They've signed on for it.

I wish that they still made Lincoln Town Cars, body on frame.
I always felt safe in them.

They "sign on" they signed on for other people to drive responsibly.

Joe the Pedophile Vegetable drives a 200 mph corvette too. He says he needs it but nobody needs an assault rifle. All liberals think vehicular homicide is ok but guns are terrible.

Hey idiot- how old was the driver of the Vette again? 18?

18 year olds do not need cars that drive 200 MPH! 18 year olds do not make the wisest of decisions.

Here the little rich bitch takes her new Vette for a ride, and drives it 155 MPH without even the least bit of concern for other's lives.

But you are the one that says that 18 year olds should be able to buy guns.

Too bad it wasn't you she ran over!

Now FUCK OFF AND DIE!

More people die in car accidents than in gun homicides.

When the Jimmy Carter imposed a national 55 mph speed limit back in the 70's, it became a national joke. That speed limit was completely unrealistic for much of the US and drivers ignored it. In Arizona, rural interstate speeds dropped from 75 mph to 55 mph. It wasn't "safer," it was just slower. People ignored the new limit because it made perfect sense to ignore the new limit.

What you advocate for is people to vote with their foot, just as happened with the Carter 55 mph speed limit.

You ignorant jackass. The 55 mph speed limit happened under nixon not carter!!! You missed by two presidents!! When the 55 was enacted, highway deaths immediately dropped from 55k a year to 46k. It was extremely successful in saving lives though it was done to save gas.

I never said 18 year olds should be allowed to buy guns. I do say 18 year olds should NOT be allowed to drive cars.

Irrelevant to the point. And, it cost a massive amount of money to the economy. The gasoline savings were almost nonexistent (.5 to 1%). As for fatalities due to speed, that depends on who's research you want to believe. Highway, and traffic deaths have steadily fallen over the years as vehicles get safer. In addition, as interstates (limited access, divided highways) have become more common in use, rural deaths and accidents on highways have plummeted.

The national 55 mph speed limit also had an extremely low rate of compliance being around 15% of drivers adhered to it. In Arizona (among other states) speeding on a 55 mph divided highway netted you a $15 fine for "Wasting a natural resource" a law still on the books.

The roads have become safer too.

Used to be that guardrails were almost a joke. Light poles stood tough like a tree while your car wrapped around it. Even signposts could slice a car in half.

Now freeways are wider, straighter, and equipped with breakaway poles and signposts. Exit frogs are equipped with crash mitigation barriers (either water barrels or crushible metal barriers). Even construction equipment has scorpion trucks that protect work crews with collapsible barriers to mitigate collisions. Ends if guardrails are not buried so they won't skewer the car if it hits it. Opposing lanes are now often protected by Jersey barriers that are designed to throw the car back into a lane that is at least moving the same direction.

The cars also are safer. They are lighter and more maneuverable. They use FADEC technology for reliable engine operation. They have driver assist systems available that reduce driver fatigue including follower cruise control and even steering assist. Sensor all around the car now warn of low tire pressure, the presence of a car in an adjacent lane, proximity sensors, backup cameras, loose doors, etc.

A lot has changed since the days of the double nickel nonsense.

Below 55, cars tend to have greater rolling drag than air drag. Above 55, cars tend to have a definite air drag greater than rolling drag.
AT 55 is the transition point where most cars are momentarily caught in that unstable between point. That speed wastes fuel. Above or below is more efficient and the car behaves better on the road.

Of all the speeds the idiot government could've chosen for the idiotic national speed limit...That's Democrats for ya.

Glad it's gone. It was unconstitutional anyway.

I have a car that tops out at over 165 mph (BTW, Biden's Vette couldn't hold a candle to it!).
One must realize driving 100 mph and coming up on some idiot like TDAK driving at 50 mph in
the passing lane is like coming up on a brick wall at 50 mph. Not good!

The '71 Mach I I had in HS pegged the 120 mph spedo on the way home from school numerous times.
(prolly not the wisest of choices, but fortunately no accidents)

As for guns, my first hi-power rifle was given to me at age 12, first handgun at age 14 or 15. I bought
my first handgun at 18. Why do you think an 18 yr. old isn't responsible enough with a firearm?

There's no doubt TDAK ani't all there, why do you wish him death? I thought you were a "nice" lizard...

I had an '87 Lincoln MARK VII LSC. Nice car

th

Pulled the 16" wheels off and put a nice set of 15" mags on it with the same tire height and added a $2500 stereo.
Put over 100,000 miles on it, only issues I had were changing 2 air bags. Women loved it! :)

You and I were raised by caring parents in a time when our families had good examples to follow like "Father Knows Best", the "Donna Reed Show", "Leave It To Beaver", "My Three Son". and "Bonanza". There was a moral to every story, and it came with a tear in everyone's eye- not out of sadness, but rather out of happiness, hope, conscious discipline, and pride in our own family lives, our values, our country, our faith- not just in our personal religious faiths, but faith in our government and political leaders, and faith in our legal system, as well.

Something got lost along the way! We split up into two tribes since then, WHERE UGLINESS, RACISM, INDIFFERENCE, INTOLERANCE, HATEFULNESS, GREED, and FEAR raised it's ugly head through ignorance and hate-filled politics and yes- EVEN RELIGIONS HAVE BECOME HATE-FILLED NOW.

We've been living in two separate Realities since all of this has come to bear, and consumed us and overwhelmed us.

The spilt was inevitable for a multi-cultural nation with a poorly written constitution.
I don't see how it could have been avoided.

As for those "family" TV series to which you alluded, you didn't find them to be cornball crap?
They're laughably campy now, I suppose, but they weren't anything that I could sit through.

I was more into the Honeymooners.
Those were more real people.

I started to use "The Honeymooners" or the "Real McCoys", or even "AMOS N' ANDY", and "Our Gang" as examples, and just as easily could have to still make my case in point.

As everything and anything on TV in America, in that era, was UNIVERSALLY ACCEPTABLE, ADMIRED, and ADORED BY US ALL- rich or poor- BLACK OR WHITE- Religious or Not- Democrat or Republican- YOUNG OR OLD- MALE OR FEMALE! Nothing on TV seemed to divide us, but rather unite us, and move our very soul!

I can remember when I used to crawl up in my daddy's lap when he would come home from work, as a very small child, and we would watch Cameron Swaze tell us the News Events of the day, and we were all Universal in our trust in what he had to say. This went on through all the Walter Cronkite days as well. This universal contentedness was reflected in American Music as well- not just in our watching TV, but also coming to us on the airwaves THROUGH RADIO!

When Motown, Herb Alpert's Mexican flavored music, the Beatles, the Boston Pops, and the Beach Boys were just as important to us as the Grand Ole' Opry! When everyone had a piece of that PIE, and we consumed it like APPLE PIE!

If anyone wants to reflect on times when things were GREAT in America, this was the epitome of when times were at it's Greatest in America.

It was a time when you could drag your own parents out to a movie, to even a wild and crazy movie of the time, like The Midnight Cowboy, and when the movie was over, and the theater curtains came down, you could look at your parents, and not just your Mom, but even your Dad had a little tear in his eye, as you all walked out together.:( It was a time when we all seemed to care about the lives of others.

When we were UNITED- NOT DIVIDED! Long before Politics and Religion became BLOOD SPORTS and TRIBAL WARFARE!

Watch this to the end and see if you can hold back that little tear- Skip over the brief guitar lesson in the middle, if you like, but be sure to watch the ending, as you read the lyrics, that will capture your human and emotional dignation! Perhaps, it will restore some of it- if it has been lost for a while now!

We had just finished the most horrific war in the history of humanity,
and our government was immediately afterward engaging in a cold war with our former allies
as though nobody had had enough yet.

Both sides, furthermore, were persecuting domestic dissidents.
Failing to mention that would be truly disingenuous.

People were desperate for fluff and for avoiding reasons to think in that era.
It was perfectly understandable.

When things started to settle down,
all of our usual domestic hostilities resurfaced.

Our nation is clearly comprised of incompatible people.
Our nation is always challenged by the daunting task of making multiculturalism work somehow.
