Woman At The Center Of The IRS Scandal Is Now In Charge Of Implementing Obamacare

The Force is With Me
Sarah Hall Ingram, the IRS executive in charge of the tax exempt division when the office began targeting conservative Tea Party, is now running the IRS office in charge with administering Obamacare, ABC reports.
Meaning she crashed upward.

As the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act office, Ingram is now in a key government position at a time when President Obama just sacked the IRS chief over the targeting scandal.

An inspector general report released Tuesday confirmed that IRS agents were inappropriately targeting conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status by asking unnecessary requests — notably asking for the names of donors and political affiliations of officers.

And here's the role of the IRS Affordable Care Act office — with Ingram at the helm — in implementing Obamacare (via The Fiscal Times):

The IRS will largely administer this attempt at providing near-universal health insurance. It is responsible for overseeing the tax credits and tax increases in the law, and — most critically — ensuring that businesses and individuals comply with the individual mandate and other major provisions.

isnt this the woman who ordered them to stop using this method ?

why are you going after her?

If you don't see how toxic this is .. I don't know what to tell you.

Do you have any idea how unpopular Obamacare already is?

Now you think adding fuel to the fire is a good idea?

So you want to punish the one person who ordered them to stop using the tactic.

wow

Who said anything about "punish?"

This affects all Americans .. and your side is having a hard enough time trying to sell Obamacare .. and one would think that smarter people would not add fuel to that fire by mixing any element of a scandal with an already highly unpopular program that has already caused one of the biggest turnovers of the House in history.

But I understand .. any and everything Obama does is alright with you.

I get that.

you want her punished.

she should be rewarded.

you just dont like anything Obama does anymore.

Your right there with the nutters now

Unfortunately Desh is mired in cognitive dissonance. She really doesn't understand what is going on.

Unpopularity of Obamacare + Unpopularity of IRS + IRS being involved in Obamacare = DEVASTATING

I know you thought the dems were going to get hammered in the midterms, but I was always skeptical given the GOP propensity to shoot itself in the foot. But, even the most lame of GOP politicians can run a 30 second ad highlighting the IRS scandal and morphing into the IRS running Obamacare. That spells doom for the democrats.

I know I shouldn't be surprised by much in politics, but I truly am surprised at the level of dissonance among Obama supporters regarding the IRS scandal. It is ingrained in the American psyche that the IRS is the "enemy". Whether true or not, that is the perception. Perception is everything in politics whether any of us like it or not.

I read BACs post, where did he say she should be "punished". What he aptly points out is that the optics SUCK for the administration.

The IRS "scandal" is overblown, and of course the R's are going to try and stain anyone who works for Obama. It really doesn't matter who he appoints. I read this really interesting post from Digby yesterday and she, like me, sees Clinton 2nd term all over again. But most of us knew this was coming. She was pointing out that Clinton was going to "reform" SS but once the R's put the panty sniffing brigade on his ass and tried to impeach him, he needed progressives, liberals, whatever, to man the battle stations. That took SS off the table. It could do the same to Obama's "grand bargain", and so you know, that's a good thing. Maybe this will turn out okay in the end. Obviously the R's are gunning to impeach Obama for, well, you know, the same thing they impeached Clinton for - nothing. And they will do it at any expense. This time around they are facing a powerful liberal blogosphere, but that power base is going to demand no grand bargain if they take the field. Which they will have to do, and Obama will have to abandon his dream of screwing old people. Anyway, should be interesting.

Meanwhile? Oh yeah, your kids? Gonna have to deal with an unimaginable world wide refugee problem. Climate change, climate change, climate change.

Shhhh.....don't tell anyone. It's not sexy. It's no fun. But nothing is really going to "turn out okay" in the end.

The very little I've read about this IRS scandal suggests to me its once again a manufactured scandal, much like Benghazi. From what I heard, speaking with a CPA who used to work for the IRS, these groups asked to be reviewed. Apparently you don't have to get approval to be tax exempt under the scheme the TEA Party was using, you just do it. If you choose to be extra safe so you don't expose yourself to penalties and sanctions, you can ask the IRS to review your status, and that's what they did, in mass, flooding the IRS, then complaining about the review that resulted in them asking for a review.

I have not studied this issue, am I missing something?

Here's an accurate description of the situation that I read this morning: The IRS official overseeing Obamacare actually oversaw the person who oversaw the division that included the section that oversaw the unit that sent the letters.

LOL.

I regret that it has come to this between us .. but your comments seem completely deranged.

Do you have no political acumen at all?

Is Obamacare unpopular?

Supporters worry about cascading problems as key provisions go into effect

Just over a third of Americans, 35%, have a favorable opinion of the health law, according to the Kaiser survey taken last month, down from 46% who had a positive view when it was signed in 2010. Now 40% have an unfavorable opinion — precisely the same as three years ago — and nearly one in four, 24%, say they don't have an opinion.

It isn't about "she" .. it's about the American people.

The midterms are coming .. and when democrats get their asses pummeled again .. take a slow walk past the mirror. You will have helped that to happen.

Everything is 'overblown' and Obama is responsible for nothing.

Democrats do not deserve to lead .. much too weak and wimpy.

I guess republicans forced Obama to put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block.

I have no idea what democrats even stand for anymore.

No, Obama is a thuggish Chicago-style Nixonian President abusing the power of the government to punish his enemies, politicizing the IRS, attacking the free press, and shredding the Constituion in his lustful quest for power.

That is the first accurate thing you have said in years.

LMAO...

'IRS scandal 'overblown', we should all be paying attention to 'global warming''

Fucking hilarious.

Not at all, if you read my post you'll see that it is Obama's dream of a so-called grand bargain. I know what he wants to do. I was shocked when I found out Clinton was planning on doing it, I had never known that until sometime early on in the Obama administration. That's when it becomes clear the elites have decided. But if another Republican meltdown, which appears to be occurring, prevents Obama from completing it, that's all good with me.

Yeah, IRS is way overblown, sorry.

Well you won't be laughing long.

yes, actually I will. Man made global warming computer models have been invalidated. Warming hasn't continued for 15 years despite the continued increase in CO2. This doesn't mean we shouldn't do whatever we can to reduce actual pollution, but we should focus on that rather than continue with this nonsensical fear mongering on CO2.
