what's dumb is NOT seeing that a large group(s) of people in one country exist in a very different societal environment than others. i.e. urban groups of people in America can be, and usually are, more violent and selfish than in other countries.

the problem with leftists who think that simply depriving certain people of the means to do violent things will make their world peaceful and non violent, when reality dictates otherwise. you people do not look at the actual cause or solutions, you simply blame the easiest group to target and blame them for it's failure.

America says 'we have mentally ill people', 'we have urban groups', ' we have violent people'... and then they say 'the answer is to make more guns readily available to everyone'.

Sorry but America is not that unique. The America i knew as a kid was not like this one, and not that different than other countries where i have family, like Canada and Europe. The biggest change in America over the last couple decades is the explosion of readily available guns everywhere. All of the conditions you speak to, which are not unique to America, are made worse with readily available guns.

Police officers, and armed security guards are allowed to carry guns in schools. The general public, and even people who work there are not allowed to carry guns either at schools or at the White House.

Gun laws in the US have been on a loosening trajectory for the last few decades as gun deaths have soared.

it is just a lie to say that gun access and laws have been tightening and say that is why gun deaths are rising. That is just factually incorrect.

These kids walking into schools with AR 15's or other such weapons would not get very far with their fists or even a knife.
