Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast called for "independent" study of the number of USA nuclear warheads, local ISNA news agency reports.
Referring to the USA claim of disclosure of the number of its nuclear arsenals at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference in New York, Mehmanparast asks "do American officials let independent teams study the statistics as there is no proof on their claim?"
Mehmanparast also denounced Hillary Clinton's remarks against Iran at the Conference as "irrational".
"The points made by Clinton were not based on logic and global realities," he was quoted.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described the United States as hypocritical.
"The possession of nuclear bombs is not a source of pride, it is rather disgusting and shameful," he said.
