I think it is likely she gets to keep her gavel and a new one would be presented to the new Speaker.

You are always invited, I thought you knew that! come on up! You can go skiing at one of the steepest slopes in N. America! Alyeska, well, that is if we get snow, it is trying, but it keeps melting here in Anchorage!
