Will The Obama Apologize?

Ouch! Maybe Dumb Yankee needs to summon his web-wives to defend him.

If they used jackpot then I have no problem. What did they use Geronimo for then?

This has nothing to do with politics Damo. I'd find it offensive if Ronald Reagan used the term as a code word for Osama. And I don't think it was sinister, or even that The Obama chose the term, but he's the CIC so the ultimate responsibility is on him.

From the Navy Times, in a good article about the operation:

Back at the White House Situation Room, word was relayed that bin Laden had been found, signaled by the code word “Geronimo.” That was not bin Laden’s code name, but rather a representation of the letter “G.” Each step of the mission was labeled alphabetically, and “Geronimo” meant that the raiders had reached step “G,” the killing or capture of bin Laden, two officials said.

To play devils advocate here, the navytimes is one of the military versions of the New York Times, who own and operate them. Some may disagree with the impartialiy of their statements. I don't see anything unusual about it, as noted earlier in this thread, but it should be said for counter-point.

Fair enough. I'm fairly skeptical of the overall account of the raid (although I think it is interesting), but thought that particular bit of information was interesting.
