Will the left back Trump if he closes the southern border?

Maybe I am wrong, but I am under the impression that the Coronavirus is already here. Shutting the border is way too late and it did not come from Mexico anyway. Mexico should shut it to keep infected Americans out.

Will you back him if he closes the southern border?

There is no logical reason to close the border, so I would not back trump in doing such a crazy thing. If there were a good reason, then I would back trump doing it.

Closing the southern border would allow people to go around it. We would need to close all ports, and borders. It would be a humanitarian disaster for America. It would be impossible to know how many Americans would die.

And I doubt it would do any good.

Dems would call closing the S. border "racist" :palm:

It is racist. The Alt Right is talking about closing a border that has nothing to do with a disease, because of their racist belief that Mexicans carry diseases. Blond haired people also carry diseases.

you can continue to act stupid and triggered, or you can educate yourself, think for yourself or at the very least stay out of conversations you have no idea about

doesn't matter. when did reality like illegal migrants crossing the southern border ever matter to Dems?

Wouldn't closing the border INCREASE illegal border crossings? Lets say we close the borders during spring break, and tell all those college students they are not allowed to return to America. Many will try to be back with their families, even if it is illegal. It is just human nature.

If we keep a normal border, we can control the movement. And we can continue to get 20% of the world's resources with only 5% of the world's population.

People who travel the furthest are the most dangerous in spreading this virus. So Germans are far more dangerous than Mexicans. It is only your racism that makes you fear Mexicans spreading the Coronavirus.

The greater danger would be Coronavirus spreading from the USA to Mexico. The United States has far more cases, and has untraced cases.

The swine flu pandemic in 2009 originated in Mexico, didn't it? Why didn't Obama close the southern border?

In April of 2009, H1N1 became a pandemic.

Six months later, in October, B. Hussein Obama declared a public health emergency.

By that time, the disease had already infected millions of Americans and more than 1,000 Americans had already succumbed.

Yes, that's right. Between the time the H1N1 flu pandemic began in April, 2009, and October, 2009, when Obama finally acted, millions of people in the United States had been infected, at least 20,000 had been hospitalized, and more than 1,000 had already died, according to Dr. Thomas Frieden, who was then Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Frieden fretted at the time because official efforts to create a vaccine had failed.

He said, "We are nowhere near where we thought we would be. As public health professionals, vaccination is our strongest tool. Not having enough is frustrating to all of us."

Dr.Frieden added that while the way vaccine is manufactured is "tried and true," it's not well-suited for ramping up production during a pandemic because it takes at least six months, to produce vaccines, which are made by growing weakened virus in eggs.

But wait, there's more.

According to Virology Journal, the 2009 H1N1 entered the USA from Mexico: "The swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus that appeared in 2009 and was first found in human beings in Mexico, is a reassortant with at least three parents. Six of the genes are closest in sequence to those of H1N2 'triple-reassortant' influenza viruses isolated from pigs in North America around 1999-2000".

In 2015, there was a new H1N1 outbreak in the country. Who was still in the White House then?

The American Journal of Clinical Pathology reports that the new coronavirus (COVID-19) was first seen in late December: "On December 30, 2019, scientists in China "a cluster of patients with pneumonia of unknown etiology was observed in Wuhan, China, and reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) China bureau in Beijing. A week later, January 7, 2020, a new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was isolated from these patients. If, as we suspected, the Chinese government tried to keep the virus outbreak secret".

By January 31, 2020, President Trump had declared a public health emergency and began restricting travel to the USA by non-citizens from China. Flights filled with U.S. citizens who were in Wuhan were brought to America and those people were quarantined on U.S. military bases for two weeks.

Though he lamented being called a "racist" for doing so, President Trump says if he hadn't hardened the U.S. borders at that point, the virus would have had gained a bigger foothold in the country.

Then we should close our southern border to protect the Mexicans, if you're right.

BTW, 'Mexican' is not a race. It's a nationality.

The swine flu pandemic in 2009 originated in Mexico, didn't it? Why didn't Obama close the southern border?

Because closing the southern border would have not stopped the virus. America would have had to close all its ports of entry, and even then it probably would have slipped through.

Closing the border does needless damage, and no good.

As for trump's response, because the people who handled the quarantine were not trained, it is now spreading from the base in California. trump actually brought the disease into America. We have no kits to test for it, so we are sitting ducks.
