Will someone please explain why Clinton names Wasserman Schultz 'honorary chair'

Following Sunday's news, however, Clinton responded with a statement thanking her "longtime friend" for her service to the party and, seemingly without irony, announced that Wasserman Schultz would now serve as her campaign’s honorary chair.

"There's simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie," Clinton said, "which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign's 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states."

To be clear, I’m a long term institutional Democrat. I understand that we need to stop Trump. I took my Bernie sticker off my car many weeks ago, and I’ve replaced it with Hillary. But….

Could there be any more tone-deaf move than this?

Without letting an hour pass, Hillary names the former DNC chair as her honorary chair. It is as much as saying to the left, “We don’t need your votes. Go away.” That is how I read it, and as I say, I am not one of the Bernie or Bust folks, I’ve been arguing against them for several months now. And in one swoop, Hillary cuts the ground out from my argument.

What is she thinking? Anybody?

Outgoing Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz faced an angry backlash at a meeting of her home state activists Monday morning as new signs of party discord emerged while Democrats prepared to kick off their national convention.

As she took the podium at a Florida delegation breakfast, the South Florida congresswoman faced boos, which competed with many of the cheers she received.

“If I could ask everybody to settle down,” she told the rowdy crowd as she struggled to maintain order. Moments later she repeated herself: “All right everybody, now settle down. Settle down please.”

Trying to speak over the noise, she acknowledged, “There’s a little bit of interest in my being here, and I appreciate that interest.”

Another official then stepped in to try to restore order.

While watching the Democratic Party crumble at the DNC, I’m at a loss for what to say. Seriously. Big loss. I don’t know where to begin or what to say.
There is no healing the fracture and everyone at the top levels is ignoring the festering wound with a fractured bone sticking out of it.

But this lady basically says it all for me, and they need to play it over the speakers in the DNC convention hall. Portia Boulger, a pledged Bernie Sanders delegate, REAMED Hillary. Notably, she nailed her on several topics from fracking to foreign policy – not just “Boo hoo, I wanted Bernie.”

I knew it was serious when the first thing I heard over my headset was:

“I don’t give a fuck about Trump! OK? Trump is dangerous for this country, and so is Hillary Clinton!”

She also asked if Clinton was going to “frack the hell” out of her (which I found pretty damn funny).

She went on to point out the hilarity behind Debbie Wasserman Schultz losing her job and why it really doesn’t matter that she lost her job.


How can America believe this when yesterday she proved to us that when you are a corrupt person, she is going to promote you. What did she do with Debbie Wasserman Schultz? She promoted her! So what does that say about the Democratic Party? We need to clean house!

She finished her two-minute speech noting she wasn’t a sheep but she would not contribute to a Hillary presidency.

“I’m not a sheep for Bernie or anybody else. And I WILL NOT spend what few years I’ve got left on this earth to help someone like Hillary Clinton. SO COME YANK MY CREDENTIALS!”

I don’t even have credentials, but FUCK IT. YANK MY FUCKING CREDENTIALS TOO.

If this isn’t the strongest message out there, then I don’t know what is.
