Translation: Black men are incapable of differentiating between fantasy and reality.

Disagreed, dude. He's a grown man. He knew better. IMO, he's in a toxic relationship and needs to save himself before he's consumed by it.

I am not trying to make excuses for Will Smith, and I would never defend his slapping of anyone.

In fact, I was just using him as one example of millions of people that may have a distorted view of Reality- based on the fantasies they view on the Silver Screen!

There are a lot of people that are defending Will Smith and saying he was defending his wife's honor.

So my point-of-view covers that misconception as well!

And don't try and put words INTO my comments- I NEVER MENTIONED BLACK- WHITE- PINK- OR PURPLE DUDE!

And who are you to judge Will Smith or his wife by claiming he is in a Toxic relationship?

Dude! You just continue to surprise me with some of your tangents and rhetorical hateful BULLSHIT!

Excuse me, as I have always thought you were somebody else I suppose!

Perhaps given time, you and your soul are just coming into the light for what you truly are!

We grew up watching Hollywood distort our views on several misconceptions- Such as always making the Cowboys out to be the saints and making the Indians out to be murderous villains- And that macho men always defended their honor by hitting their adversaries in the mouth if they said something offensive to them- AND THAT IT WAS SOMEHOW MACHO TO SETTLE EVERY SCORE WITH A FISTFIGHT- OR A QUICK DRAW OF A GUN- SO MUCH AS IT WAS ALSO PORTRAYED ON THE SILVER SCREENS AS MACHO FOR MEN TO EVEN SLAP WOMEN AROUND AS WELL. How many times did we see Clark Gable slap a women?

My point is- SOME PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME DISTINGUISHING HOLLYWOOD"S FANTASIES AND MAKE-BELIEVE from REALITY!

As Will Smith may have thought he was being a MACHO-Man like John Wayne- when he took his chicken-shit cheap shot at Chris Rock!

Well, no- We have laws against that sort of thing in the civilized free world- maybe not on the Silver Screen- But in the real world- YES we do!

will smith should be in jail.

Not arguing, just pointing out that, by these standards, Trump has a "health condition" and there will be people who defend him using that excuse no matter what the transgression.

Nope, typical male (and some females too) pattern balding is not a health condition like alopecia, which affects children as well as adults. Yes, balding has treatments so you could consider it a health condition but it isn't normally considered one. Just semantics.

I don't really give a shit if the Trumpanzees want to claim that #TRE45ON shouldn't be mocked for his ridiculous combovers. Notice how those who try unsuccessfully to hide their baldness that way are often mocked, whereas those who just accept it and go for the shaved head look, or just take good care of what hair they have left, are not? One of my sons-in-law started losing his hair in his 20s. He wore caps all the time to hide it, then finally decided fuck it, and shaves it. He's athletic and works out and looks great.

Will Smith was wrong to strike Chris Rock. He initially laughed at the joke but became violent when Jada wasn't laughing. IMO, that's a toxic relationship.

Despite the claims of others, there seems to be 1) more to this drama and 2) the drama isn't over yet. It rarely is with highly emotional people like the Trumps and the Smiths.

It doesn't help that ppl prefer to talk about this stupidity over actual meaningful events, either. We humans do love our gossip!

People who have that view are mentally ill. Mental illness is not an excuse for violence, it's an excuse to be used in sentencing; to prison or a mental institution.

Nonetheless, as pointed out before about anorexia and obesity, jokes about "health conditions" are not only frequent onstage but not an excuse for violence.

IMO, the heart of the problem here is Jada Pinkett Smith and a weird, fucked up toxic relationship with Will. Will Smith needs to get out before he does himself any other harm.

Will Smith... The man who laughs at bald jokes about his wife, then pretends he didn't by slapping the crap out of someone who wasn't the husband of the woman he just laughed at. If this wasn't scripted the slap was in reaction to his own shame from laughing at his wife's expense. The person he should be apologizing to is his wife for laughing at that crappy GI Jane joke.

Dude, I'm not mentally ill, and I once slapped a kid in the face when I was a kid- and for just his popping off. I was wrong and have regretted doing this all my life since.

People are humans- and this is something that humans do!

Just about every small child has to be taught that hitting others is wrong and not to do it or there will be some butts spanked for such things!

Some people may have missed this valuable lesson in life- or they let their emotions overcome their better judgement!

The hard cold lesson for this is- DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF SUCH ACTIONS!

will smith should be in jail.

He will probably be indicted, convicted, and because this may be his first offense- he will probably get a light sentence- a few hours of community service and placed on probation for a year.

I remember when Clint Longley cold-cocked Roger Stauback in the shower room while exchanging personal sentiments.

That's about all that happened to him legally- BUT TOM LANDRY REMOVED HIM OFF THE TEAM and that also ruined his career in the NFL!

Why are you equating Will Smith's actions to yours as a kid? It's because he's black, isn't it? The inherent racism of the Far Left who see themselves as the saviors of po' black folk because they aren't as smart as white Liberals?

Actions have consequences. Just like the douchebags on 1/6, Will Smith needs to man up and face the consequences of his actions.

IMO, he'd be best to start off by filing divorce papers against Jada Pinkett Smith, the real problem in his life. Chris Rock was just a stand-in for Smith's displaced aggression.

Agreed. Although I suspect you or I would spend a night in jail if we smacked someone on live TV, knowing how Liberals cater to the rich and famous, "two rules", Smith will never spend a minute in jail and end up with talking to kids about domestic violence and donating large amounts of money to both the Academy and the City of Los Angeles.

Public perception is everything regarding Will's future and career!

However his legal worries are real! In California, Simple Assault is a Misdemeanor crime. Conviction can result in six months in a county jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both jail time and a fine.

Given the onus that Chris Rock will more-than-likely take the stand and say that they were friends and just had a friendly scuffle and try to take the blame for the incident- the judge or jury may be light on him!

This is not my level of conversation happening here. I don't give a fuck about their marriage, open or not, I like talking about the much more universal truths revealed around this incident.

If someone had slapped the shit out of Seth McFarlane and Ricky Gervais at one of these Oscar events, and someone should have, a lesson woulda been learned. But I don't find demeaning and humiliating women funny. You know how the saying "you gonna learn today" right? Well a lot people learned on this day. I personally wish he had handled his business backstage, but I understand what happened. And this was not Rock's first time going after Jada. Or black women in general. So you know, talk shit, get shit. This was a smack. Nobody got beaten to a bloody pulp. I think there was a better way to handle it, but who among us has not handled a situation badly in the moment and regretted it later? The point of the article I posted was that words can be violence. Come on, people sometimes commit suicide over bullying and harmful words and we all know this.

For me personally, I don't like to be involved in any man shit. That's all I have to say on the subject. Here.

Agreed on public perception. Look at Mel Gibson after his drunken antisemitic rant during a DUI arrest.

You just explained why so many abused women aren't being helped in our society even if the husband beats her in public. "She declined to file charges".

Let's just agree that Will was wrong- and he deserves whatever the court chooses to do with him.

Let's not even talk about pigmentation or our feelings about his marriage! That's unnecessary!

Sooo....if Stormy publicly stated that Trump had a micropenis and he smacked her just like Smith hit Rock, you'd be good with it? Talk shit, get shit, it's only a smack?

I disagree but thanks for leaning toward stand your ground.

Agreed....and even if he wasn't rich and black, anyone without a record and reviewing the circumstances leads me to think community service and a fine/restitution is just.

Skin-tone is a social/cultural thing. It's often used to determine justice. Look at all the threads where African-Americans are judges more harshly than their Euro-American counterparts.

His marriage is a psychological thing; first Will was laughing, then he was assaulting Chris Rock onstage. ON STAGE. Not in the back room, ONSTAGE. WTF? Does anyone besides me see that as having any reasoning behind it at all? Why not wait and just push Chris down a flight of stairs? Oops! WTF? Something ain't right here.
