Why Liberals and the Main Stream media keep talking about Palin.

Thats bullshit....do the left wingers follow Glenn Beck and O'Reilly around the country when they are doing their shows...NO
Do the left wingers follow Limbaugh around when he gives speeches...NO...
Do the left wingers follow Ann Coulter around when she doing her rants....NO

Palin is a different story....the left NEEDS an enemy at all times, they NEED to create crisis, they NEED a bad guy....they give her the staring role....and yet they fear her star power...

I don't know who follows Beck and O'Reilly around because I don't listen to them ever. I suspect you don't really know, either. However, logic tells me there would be at least a small number of LW's who attended their shows just to keep up with the enemy, or to heckle them.

As far as Coulter, I know LWs attend her shows because she gave a talk in Pgh. a couple of years ago and they attended. I also believe some RWs attend liberal conferences. It would be foolish to deny either scenario.

You all persist in claiming that Palin's a special case because you want to see her as a poor, misunderstood victim who's just trying to "take back the country" from the evil Commie liberals. That's not only a mistake, it's a stupid mistake. Palin is a polarizing figure who chose her place in the spotlight. That she has star power with a certain segment of the right is undeniable but the GOP as a whole hasn't embraced her with open arms. Your comment that "we NEED an enemy, we NEED a bad guy" makes no more sense than if I said the same to you about Al Gore.

One more time, and try to memorize this: we criticize Palin because she's an egotistical, incurious, intellectual lightweight. Her own book shows that she doesn't have enough introspection to understand how she turned the McCain team against her. Her childish attempt at "gotcha" doesn't portray her as serious, thoughtful, and willing to learn from her mistakes.

I'm not afraid of her. I've listened to the woman and found her completely lacking in every way that matters. By all means she should run for president in 2012. She'll have a tough row to hoe right now a majority of Americans think she's not fit for the office. Maybe she can apply herself and change that perception over the next two years. Liberals will be watching and waiting.

From an article dated today:

"There is a growing sense that the former Alaska governor is not qualified to serve as president, with more than seven in 10 Americans now saying she is unqualified, up from 60 percent in a November survey. Even among Republicans, a majority now say Palin lacks the qualifications necessary for the White House.”

She's not going to run, so all the hateful bashing of this woman is just a waste of time.

We'll see. Like most politicians, she's pretty much an egomaniac, and she won't be able to resist if polls are still showing her as one of the top contenders for 2012.

I think she'll end up running...

I think that she should run, and what she's doing now will set her up nicely. The liberals will have all that time to throw shit at her, thus galvanizing conservative support, and all the while she'll hone her speaking, interviewing and debating skills. Plus she'll know exactly what to expect during the formal campaign phase:)

Right. However, the attempt to get them to lose focus on this target might be a mistake. Let them aim at this target, they'll never actually find the "enemy" that way.

She may enter the Primary race, but I don't think she'll be the candidate.

It will be interesting. The base adores her, and they're who vote in the primaries. They've never been excited about Romney.

Sometimes, primary voters get practical, but it really depends on how Obama is doing at that point. If they smell blood in the water, they might decide to just go for it w/ Palin, instead of going with the more "generally electable" choice, like Romney...

With 70% of people now saying she is unqualified (up from 60% in November) and only 45% of self-identified conservatives saying she is qualified (down from 66% in November), what she is doing now has her going in the wrong direction.

I haven't seen those polls; on face value they don't make much sense.

That doesn't show any of the background data, such as questions asked and how the responders were selected.

There's been this recent, magical invention called hyperlinks, and the link to the poll data and questions that were asked is embedded in the article.

It took me 2 seconds to find it.

Regardless of whether or not you'd vote for her, do you think Palin is or is not qualified to serve as president?

Not Qualified 71%
Qualified 26%

That's odd. 26% is almost exactly the same amount of people who thought George Dumbya Bush was doing a good job when he left office.
