I think the polls at the very least are taking the temperature of the electorate. Which is informative. DeSantis is clearly stumbling out of the blocks. I've asked JPP conservatives what precisely they like about DeSantis in terms of policy and governance. All they seem to know is that he bans highschool books and flies asylum seekers around the country on private luxury chartered jets.

Combine that with the fact he is short, fat, and doesn't seem to have much charisma, and I have a hard time understanding why some JPP conservatives fawned over him as an A list candidate.

I agree but we are still so far away from the 2024 election that lord knows what might happen between now and then. If Trump is indicted and found guilty that is going to hurt him, if he is also charged in GA and DC it could put an end to his chances. Hopefully he doesn't think so and still wins the nomination and is annihilated in the general. I just wonder when the dumbfucks who think he is great are going to realize that a guy impeached twice, tried to overthrow our govt and is guilty of a half dozen crimes might just not be the best candidate to support.
