Perfect.
To SF & Cawacko- Bush was an ABSENTEE PRESIDENT. He couldn't wait to start a war, as evidenced by his comments to a ghost writer in the '90's and his declaration that "I'm a War President!" after 9/11. He was bored silly with domestic policy, and had NO ECONOMIC POLICY WHATSOEVER. That last part cannot be stated emphatically enough. He never met a spending bill he didn't like, and forced us into an UNNECESSARY war that not only drained our resources and cost trillions, but took all of his focus - yes, all, because it's all he cared about after invading. Beyond all of that, the President is the steward of the economy, like it or not - if you're gonna blame Carter for economic failings during 4 short years, how do you all of a sudden blame Congress & Clinton, when Bush had warning signs - especially on the housing bubble - for almost a full 8 years?
I'm sick of the apologism. Bush wouldn't have gotten near any public office if not for his name. I knew the guy would be an absolute disaster from the 1st debate with Gore on, and was stunned that so many thought he was legit. I have said many times that we'll be able to trace the beginning of our downfall as a superpower to his tenure, and we will.
