I guess it's because I'm an air sovereignty/air defense NORAD guy, and President Obama is my Commander-in-Chief, but I've never really been against his military tactics in the ME. I applaud his getting Bin Laden, and I don't really consider killing an expatrioted terrorist to be killing a US Citizen. Also, I never really imagined that Libya would blow-up in his face the way it did, simply because he chose not to commit an all-out war in Libya the way Bush did with Afghanistan and Iraq.
If it were up to me, I would just let Turkey reconquer the ME and pull all of the troops out, but that is obviously far less popular of an idea than anything that either of my Commanders-in-Chief have ever come up with, and their foreign policy adventures have certainly been unpopular.
Then again, I'm not quite the limited government type that you all are, which is why I always admit that I'm only a pseudo-libertarian. I'm still voting for Gary Johnson, but I have admitted I am doing it because it is a safe thing to do with my vote, me being a resident of a blue state.

I was just adding to your points. I was answering the repeated questions about why someone should vote for Romney withouth mentioning Obama. That is, if Romney wins maybe someone will finally stand up against the abuse of Presidential power again.
Unfortunately, I think Obama and the silence of the left has made it so they are going to have a hard time reclaiming those issues. Another 4 years of Obama will make it even harder for them to reclaim that position. After 8 years of Obama. It may well be a decade or more before they are able to convince anyone of that again and they probably won't even try. Democrat voters do not revel in stupidity like Republicans.

It's not so much his tactics. It's how he cuts corners to get around the constitution. I understand why and I have even errored in cutting him some slack. But to hell with that.
The politics of warfare is tough? Good. If people had not been ignoring what we were doing in the ME for decades before 9/11 we would not be in this mess. The violation of our civil liberties and disdain for our Constitutional rights has NOT made us any safer. It is has only created more insecurity.

lol... today's liberals are anything but libertarian. The two do not mesh on 80% of the issues... especially economic and government control. The ones they do mesh on tend to be social in nature.
As for Reagan, no, don't idolize him... I know the downsides of his admin as well as the upsides. But overall, he is the best President we have had since Ike. Clinton a close second. The rest aren't even in the ballpark.

Most people who now call themselves "libertarian" are fox news viewers. Bitter far-righties who felt burned by the "Rino" McCain decided they needed to call themselves something other than Republican. Some went with Tea Partier other went with Libertarian.
