Another thing that doesn't add up is this:

I tried feeling up a girl once (probably more) when I was drunk and she pushed me away. Does that count as attempted rape?

I guess you missed the part where she described K. as "stumbling drunk"... and the part where Judge in his book and elsewhere claims to have drank enough to have blackouts, so can't recall the incident. Plus she was fueled by adrenaline.

But sure, if she hadn't suffered dislocated limbs, black eyes, and/or wounds requiring stitches.... it wasn't a "legitimate" rape attempt.

I really don't care if Kav is confirmed or not, but anyone with common sense can see this whole thing is plain stupid.
My wife is pretty liberal. She hates Trump, liked Obama, hated Bush Jr., anti gun, for universal hlth. care, pro choice, etc.
We went out last night for her 54th b'day :party: and talked about this topic for the first time.
Even she agrees that this Blasey Ford character is just stirring the pot and dims are using her as a last ditch attempt to delay the confirmation and they don't care about destroying Kav's reputation. Pretty low.
If I had to bet, I'd bet Kav gets confirmed and it will be done before the midterms.

I'm glad to hear Mrs. Moose's opinion. Personally I somewhat agree with her about the last ditch effort. But *that* being said, I see no reason to assume that Dr. Ford is lying about an incident from her adolescence. No one -- especially a woman -- of her academic achievement and stature would risk her reputation and perhaps even her very livelihood to go public if there was not truth behind her story. And *that* being said... does it disqualify Kavanaugh to sit on the USSCt? I guess your answer depends on what sort of principles and character you expect from those deciding law that could have an impact upon your life. If there are no incidents of similar events in his adult years, can we write this off as the stupidity of youth, alcohol, and hormones? Can we assume that maybe he continued to behave like a rutting moose into adulthood, absent any proof? (IMO no.) What if he mans up, admits that it's quite possible he did behave like a drunken rapist but failed, and apologizes to Dr. Ford publicly?
