Why Don't Republicans Simply Fund ACA?

Bernie Sanders had a great idea. One that I've been talking about for years.

Each day, high frequency trading on Wall St accounts for more than one billion trades. Placing a $.05 fee on every Wall St transaction would easily fund healthcare in this country.

Bernie wanted to waste this money on free tuition. I say, start with $.05, and increase it as time passes if necessary.

Why do you feel you have a right to that money?

Once again Liberal thinking pretends that we have a revenue problem in this country. Wrong; we have a SPENDING problem in Washington.

The notion that the Government should provide for ALL it's citizens lacks intelligence and good common sense.

People who are GIVEN something, quickly piss it away. When they earn it, they care and nurture it.

A much better question is why Liberals think Republicans should fix an abomination they had ZERO say in?

It is the pinnacle of lunacy that the party of the Jackass would pass a bill they admitted they didn't know what is in it and then expect the party they SHUT OUT to fix it.

It is equally specious and hypocritical that idiots like Pelosi now demand the Republicans be specific about their proposals and provide a cost analysis for said changes. They aren't the party of the Jackass for nothing.

Republicans like most people are not generous and kind, faith hope and charity needs to be amended in so many ways, the old American can do spirit went out the window long ago. The new deal was too successful it spoiled us.

"Something is profoundly wrong with the way we live today. For thirty years we have made a virtue out of the pursuit of material self-interest: indeed, this very pursuit now constitutes whatever remains of our sense of collective purpose. We know what things cost but have no idea what they are worth. We no longer ask of a judicial ruling or a legislative act: is it good? Is it fair? Is it just? Is it right? Will it help bring about a better society or a better world? Those used to be the political questions, even if they invited no easy answers. We must learn once again to pose them." Tony Judt 'Ill Fares the Land'

"'Individuals have rights, and there are things no person or group may do to them without violating their rights.' 'Each person possesses an inviolability founded on justice that even the welfare of society as a whole cannot override.' 'There would be no point in the boast that we respect individual rights unless that involved some sacrifices, and the sacrifice in question must be that we give up whatever marginal benefits our country would receive from overriding these rights when they prove inconvenient.'" Nozick, Rawls, Dworkin

Why do you start ALL of your arguments with an outright lie or strawman claim?

What is generous or kind about turning the citizens into dependent wards of the state?

What is generous or kind about ignoring the decades old catastrophe occurring in the black community within liberal controlled urban sewers?

What is generous or kind about reaching into the pockets of those who work and lining the pockets of those who did nothing more for it than vote for you?

The child like naiveté' that represents the ideology of the party of the Jackass is stunning to behold. The notion that by GIVING people something they haven't earned, it will improve their lives has been disproved now for nearly a century.

The party of the Jackass has shown a complete disregard for human dignity and exposed their dishonest agenda as being nothing more than professional politicians who have learned that by promising ignorant voters something for nothing, they can hold onto the power they desire more than anything else on the planet.

There is nothing humane or generous about an ideology built upon lies and demagoguery.

Why do you believe you are entitled to another individuals property

Sorry one cannot call themselves compassionate when they demand that others carry the load.

once again, a liberal proves that they have no concept of economic consequences.

I have a better idea. Withdraw all funding that promotes sexual promiscuity and channel it into healthcare. Unless, of course you're trying to argue that free condoms and at-will abortions are a necessary part of healthcare, then we just say "fuck you" and get back to eradicating Obamacare.

What is wrong with free tuition?

In fact, what is wrong with free education period?

It certainly would have helped the current crop of dumb ass's we have in office now.

Silly child. You're in the wrong thread.

Very true. Patients with by far the highest no show rates at doctors' offices are Medicaid patients. They get healthcare for free and take it for granted.

Free tuition is a waste of money for many. If you want to expand that to free trade schools, I believe you get a better result. I don't have to ask you the number of college grads who are not working in the field they studied.

Further, I don't have to tell you about the thousands of extremely intelligent graduates who have a 1% chance of landing a job in the field they got their degree in. My friend's son was 1 of 100 applicants for an engineering job at G.E a few years ago. He was part of the 1%, thankfully.

Edit to add

If you make that nickel/trade $.25, you can fund both.

I have the idiot on ignore. How is this 'the govt'. giving anyone anything for free? If premiums could be cut in half as a result of a small transaction tax, that helps every business in the country who supplies health insurance to employees.

"'Individuals have rights, and there are things no person or group may do to them without violating their rights.'
They also have responsibility . Dims seems to ignore this basic fact or simply believe they don't. Personally I think it's the latter since dims' policies reward personal irresponsibility and penalize personal responsibility.
