Why does Brittney Griner think she doesnt have to observe other countries laws?

Don’t do the crime if you’re unwilling to do the time. I remember when the kid got caught applying graffiti in Singapore and was sentenced to be caned. Oh the hand wringing on the news shows taking place was epic.

If that’s their law it’s what he deserved, IMO.

^^ Doesn't seem like a charitable christian attitude.

Ten minutes of humiliation with a cane beating isn't remotely comparable to ten years in a Russian penal camp.

More importantly, I do not think there is any record of you on this board demanding that Trevor Reed be sent back to Russia to serve out his prison term after Biden got him released on a prisoner exchange.

Which makes me wonder why this case is different for you.

I don't care whst the politics of Griner, Trevor Reed, or Paul Whelan are. There is good reason to believe they were incarcerated on trumped up criminal charges that were at least in part politically motivated, and US government should be advocates on their behalf.

Sure it is…Gal. 6:7 among others. Personal responsibility is a most Christian teaching. That we are responsible for our actions i a most Christian attitude.

I admit, I had to look the two guys up that you mentioned. Of the three cases, the Whelan guy seems to be the most wrongfully detained as I can’t find anything he is accused of except espionage. But he’s also a citizen Of UK, Ireland and Canada so they could pull some weight.

The Reed guy … lesson is don’t get drunk and pass out in a country that could be hostile to your nationality. No telling what they might accuse you of.

I know Griner because I’m a sports fan. It wouldn’t matter to me if she was as straight as Mrs. Cleaver or as conservative as … well, as I am. She evidently or allegedly had stuff with her that could get her into trouble there. I leave everyday stuff that could get me into trouble behind all the time. Went to a Cardinals game last night…left my firearm secured in the vehicle. I leave my firearm and pocketknife home when I fly. She shouldn’t have had what she had where she was.

Stone is proof that the trouncing of Donald Trump and death of Rush Limbaugh were not enough to make the troglodytes slither back under their rocks.

Yes, the broad was seriously stupid to go to Russia.
But the Stoner isn't the one to cast stones.

If we had an administration with any balls, he'd be in Gitmo just for what he says here.

Sez the idiot that threatened the life of a SC justice.

You, lionfish, didn't ask to be born a fucking idiot, one assumes, but when people who aren't breeding material don't throw bag on it, anything can happen.

If I say that I think six Republican-appointed SCOTUS justices deserve to boil in oil, and knowing of that happening would make me a very happy man, I'm just stating my feelings.
I'm not threatening anybody or even urging somebody else to threaten or harm anybody.

Truth is, I'd like to see all 74,000,000 trumpanzees tossed into the cauldron as well.

I'm just honest.

I'm not threatening anybody.

But really, lionfish, you are a seriously stupid fuck. Not my fault, but I'm sorry anybody has to be like you.

Nice try but you are guilty as charged.

What punch drunk old tomato cans have to say is of little consequence in the real world. ;)

I am suspicious of any person who doesn't read ancient Hebrew or ancient Greek to have the expertise to instruct anyone on the original meaning and intent of the bible

Getting drunk in Russia is not a crime, otherwise most of the population would be in jail.

I don't buy that Trevor assaulted a team of cops. Russian cops are notoriously corrupt.

I think it's remarkable that your position is that Trevor Reed should have been left in a Russian penal camp, rather than using the influence of our government to advocate for him.

Stupidity? Arrogance? Both? In many other countries the population could give a damn less about Lesbian Basketball players? Why would they,...who the hell are they? Nobody. They just want their own laws observed by citizens and visitors alike. IMO it takes a lot of nerve to go into someone elses home and do as you like instead of following the rules. Brittney is by no means alone though,....we have produced millions of these types of people who think being attracted to another woman or being good at playing a kids game actually makes you someone of importance. It doesnt. As she sits in that Russian jail cell I think she is finding out just how important she really is.....  She deserves everything she gets just as any other citizen or visitor gets when they break the law. Let her ugly ass rot.

How would you know what she thinks about following the rules?

I guess you don't own a Strong's Concordance

You can't make a decent living playing women's basketball. because women's basketball doesn't generate any revenue.
A handful of the broads playing golf or tennis can make a buck, but that's about it.

Trying to supplement your income playing as a lesbian in a Russian league, however, was an exceedingly stupid thing for the woman to do.

I truly wish her luck to recover from her mistake, but she really fucked up.

People who travel abroad should really understand where they're going before they leave. Why wouldn't one do that?
Maybe she's mentally challenged, in which case even the fucktard Russian bureaucrats should give her consideration for that.

Umm because she didn't follow them???

Nobody has ever accidentally broken a rule, or intentionally broken a rule even though they knew they shouldn’t?

I prosecuted people who admitted their crime and said that they deserved punishment.

From what I read this woman admitted guilt and said it was an accident.

I don’t blame her for wanting to play there but you have to do your due diligence on where you are going first. I mean, fvxk Russia and I hope they release her soon but she never should have put herself in this situation by traveling there with that stuff.

Well,....... it seems MR Griner just might be coming to the conclusion that YES,...he too has to abide by the laws of other countries.

Biden has offered a prisoner exchange to get Griner and Paul Whelan out of Russia, and the Russians have made a counter offer, which means they're serious about making a swap..

So I believe the odds are at least 50 percent that Griner and Whalen will come back to USA.
