Ten minutes of humiliation with a cane beating isn't remotely comparable to ten years in a Russian penal camp.

More importantly, I do not think there is any record of you on this board demanding that Trevor Reed be sent back to Russia to serve out his prison term after Biden got him released on a prisoner exchange.

Which makes me wonder why this case is different for you.

I don't care whst the politics of Griner, Trevor Reed, or Paul Whelan are. There is good reason to believe they were incarcerated on trumped up criminal charges that were at least in part politically motivated, and US government should be advocates on their behalf.

I admit, I had to look the two guys up that you mentioned. Of the three cases, the Whelan guy seems to be the most wrongfully detained as I can’t find anything he is accused of except espionage. But he’s also a citizen Of UK, Ireland and Canada so they could pull some weight.

The Reed guy … lesson is don’t get drunk and pass out in a country that could be hostile to your nationality. No telling what they might accuse you of.

I know Griner because I’m a sports fan. It wouldn’t matter to me if she was as straight as Mrs. Cleaver or as conservative as … well, as I am. She evidently or allegedly had stuff with her that could get her into trouble there. I leave everyday stuff that could get me into trouble behind all the time. Went to a Cardinals game last night…left my firearm secured in the vehicle. I leave my firearm and pocketknife home when I fly. She shouldn’t have had what she had where she was.

I don't buy that Trevor assaulted a team of cops. Russian cops are notoriously corrupt.

You can't make a decent living playing women's basketball. because women's basketball doesn't generate any revenue.
A handful of the broads playing golf or tennis can make a buck, but that's about it.

People who travel abroad should really understand where they're going before they leave. Why wouldn't one do that?

I don’t blame her for wanting to play there but you have to do your due diligence on where you are going first. I mean, fvxk Russia and I hope they release her soon but she never should have put herself in this situation by traveling there with that stuff.

Biden has offered a prisoner exchange to get Griner and Paul Whelan out of Russia, and the Russians have made a counter offer, which means they're serious about making a swap..

So I believe the odds are at least 50 percent that Griner and Whalen will come back to USA.
