Because what I said was accurate. Asylum seekers and refugees can apply for jobs. You said so yourself. Whether or not their status has to be approved doesn't change the fact that once it is, they can apply for jobs.

BTW, Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) is in the president’s discretion to authorize as part of his power to conduct foreign relations. Although DED is not a specific immigration status, individuals covered by DED are not subject to removal from the United States, usually for a designated period of time.
Why is that relevant?
If work authorization is provided as a benefit of DED for the asylee's home country, then an asylee may request work authorization by filing a Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.
