New York has no say in who the Senators in Vermont are. California cannot choose the representative of the 12th District in Montana. Elections choose representatives of only those in a defined area. It is a representative Republic.

The bullshit about "democracy" is only because the democrats want to disenfranchise all voters in 47 states for presidential elections.
