Why do conservatives feel that the Government should run like a business?

"Why do conservatives feel that the Government should run like a business?"
$efficiency.

Government doesn't grasp the concept of keeping on time and under budget. If there's cost overruns, who cares?
The private sector is beholden to their shareholders.

Yes, there are bankruptcy laws. Would you like them to not exist?

The gov't doesn't declare bankruptcy, it can just print more money.

Glad you agree with me on running a government. One doesn't pull a Trump by fucking over his contractors and then declaring bankruptcy.

Not able to discuss the topic Domer? Or can't defend your beloved gov'ts actions?

And let me guess, you had no problem with the gov't f'ing over GM bond holders.

I'm pointing out what your new messiah, Orangetweet, did. You own this motherfucker now. Let's see how he runs this "business".

Let's see Mr. Angry Man, I didn't vote for Trump nor he is my messiah so you're oh for two there buddy. Nor are you able have a discussion on the subject as you can only be a partisan hack.

And pretty clearly you seem to lack even basic understanding of how gov't works as they can print their own money where a business can't. Go back to just cussing sir. More your speed

I agree with the OP. Our government(s) should be inefficient, ineffective, wasteful, mismanaged, delinquent, and, above all, way over budget. Fraud, waste, and abuse should be the rule of the day in every department of government. Otherwise, we're treating it too much like a business.

Your messiah, Orangetweet, has no clue how government works. You think he'll just default on all our debt and call it good? Just like he did before?

That a Businessman would would be an asset in Government? The few Presidents with business backgrounds turned out to be disasters, and the only one who didn't, Truman, was a disaster at business

Business and Government are two separate entities, Government centers upon those concerns that Business won't, and the leadership qualites necessary in both are different, assuming understanding one automatically predicts success in the other is an error

Michael Jordan was a supreme athlete, but being a dominating athlete didn't mean he would succeed at baseball as he did basketball, two separate entities

No one wins with the gross "mismanagement" of the People's wealth and defense. The way the left attempts to run things there is no accountability possible.

the thing i like about businesses is that they can recognize failure. Government has unlimited cash and supplies so they can ignore it. Note the bigger the company gets the less they are able to recognize failurre as well.

"No one wins with the gross "mismanagement" of the People's wealth and defense." #56
Correct.
"The way the left attempts to run things there is no accountability possible."
"Those who consider the Devil to be a partisan of Evil and angels to be warriors for Good accept the demagogy of the angels. Things are clearly more complicated." Milan Kundera

Absolutizing condemnation is quite Trumpesque.
It's not clear that demonizing any position in superlatives promotes objective understanding.

"The left" is the category being demonized here.
That would seem to flatter or credit the counterpart, in this case "the right".

The reality is, "the right" does not have a patent on "accountability". Far from it!
"Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt, that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."
