Why Democrats want Muslims to floor into the US....

You have the current leading Republican Presidential candidate saying he wants to ban Muslims and you wonder why they side with Democrats? (granted this poll/stats was/were taken before Trump but still...)

And the whole Pew poll isn't here but according to the article in the OP ""Pew also found that Muslim immigrants prefer more government services."" If that's implying social services then again support for Democrats isn't surprising. Not necessarily an apples to apples comparison but blacks tend to be more (socially) conservative in general but clearly not in their voting.

I'd like to know how this compares with other religions' beliefs about government services.

Catholics have traditionally voted Dem, despite slavery and abortion. :dunno:

I don't know why you're surprised. Catholic social teaching has been a major factor in this.

Catholic social teaching is the body of doctrine developed by the Catholic Church on matters of social justice, involving issues of poverty and wealth, economics, social organization and the role of the state. Its foundations are widely considered to have been laid by Pope Leo XIII's 1891 encyclical letter Rerum novarum, which advocated economic distributism and condemned both capitalism and socialism, although its roots can be traced to the writings of Catholic thinkers such as St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine of Hippo, and is also derived from concepts present in the Bible and the cultures of the ancient Near East.[SUP][1][/SUP]

The GOP has only itself to blame for losing the Muslim vote.

"According to James Zogby, the Arab American Institute's (AAI) president, the GOP should have an opening with the Muslim American community because of its conservative values. CAIR National Legislative Director Corey Saylor agrees: "Muslims follow a conservative traditional religion and many of those values are reflected in the Republican party." But the Party hasn't tried very hard to capitalize on this; an August poll from the AAI found that 47 percent of Republicans viewed Muslim Americans unfavorably.

And it hurt them come November. A post-election poll released by CAIR (where I formerly interned) indicated that in a national survey of more than 650 American Muslim voters, 7 percent identified as Republicans, and only 4 percent voted for Romney. By contrast, in 2000, the American Muslim Political Coordination Counsel endorsed the Republican ticket and over 70 percent of Muslims voted for George W. Bush.

This loss of Muslim voters could be due to increasing Islamophobic rhetoric and action taken by GOP politicians over the past couple of years, including Rep. Peter King's hearings on the radicalization of the Muslim community, Ill. Republican congressional candidate Joe Walsh's comment that there is a "radical strain of Islam in this country," and Herman Cain's demand during the Republican primaries that any Muslim seeking a role in his cabinet would need to take. By not denouncing these extreme voices, the Muslim organizations argue that the GOP is essentially giving them "tacit approval."

Why do many Jews and Catholics vote with the Democratic Party when it no longer serves their interests? Because they arrive from a European Socialism where the nanny state has been a part of their lives for centuries.

A vast majority of the Catholic constituency are poor Hispanics lacking higher education. So when you have dishonest, anti-Constitution politicians who pander to them with Marxist redistribution schemes, it is no wonder they vote the way they do.

Just goes to show how the Tea Parties insane strategy of targeting whites and only whites is bound to fail.

So to be clear, are you saying that only whites think government spends too much money or that only whites are smart enough to make it without more government handouts?

Post 22. Or have you forgotten.

First...it ain't 2000 and Pew states
Pew: Muslims 'fastest-growing religious group in the world,' 70% Democrat

Second.... Pope Leo XIII's 1891 encyclical letter Rerum novarum, which advocated economic distributions ? Social justice, etc. (from your perspective)

I don't know why you're surprised. Catholic social teaching has been a major factor in this.

What you're trying to claim is that Catholics consider money over morals, social teaching above moral teaching, huh ?.....That could be the reason for them voting with the supporters of abortion ?

Never looked at it that way but you could be correct....is that your reason for supporting Democrats ?

I'm always surprised at people who think it's either-or. What did Jesus say about money?

"Catholic social teaching is a central and essential element of our faith. Its roots are in the Hebrew prophets who announced God's special love for the poor and called God's people to a covenant of love and justice. It is a teaching founded on the life and words of Jesus Christ, who came "to bring glad tidings to the poor . . . liberty to captives . . . recovery of sight to the blind"(Lk 4:18-19), and who identified himself with "the least of these," the hungry and the stranger (cf. Mt 25:45). Catholic social teaching is built on a commitment to the poor. This commitment arises from our experiences of Christ in the eucharist....

Catholic social teaching is based on and inseparable from our understanding of human life and human dignity. Every human being is created in the image of God and redeemed by Jesus Christ, and therefore is invaluable and worthy of respect as a member of the human family. Every person, from the moment of conception to natural death, has inherent dignity and a right to life consistent with that dignity. Human dignity comes from God, not from any human quality or accomplishment.... "

Islam is inherently violent

True. Their prophet was a warlord, there are numerous references to violence in the religion, at least 50% of all muslims worldwide think you should be killed if you leave the religion.

Government should monitor most muslims

absolutely not.

Majority of muslims worldwide support isis

unlikely, though it's probably a sizeable minority.

Muslims pose an immediate and serious threat to the u.s.

wouldn't say immediate. we have threats from many factions all over the globe. We are top dawg.

would not vote for muslim president

I probably wouldn't vote for any republican pres, but it wouldn't be because they are muslim

Values of islam are at odds with american values

This is obvious as fuck, and anyone that disagrees with this is a fucking retard

Muslims place beliefs above the law

Maybe partially true, but many people do this. All religions probably feel their beliefs are superior. Whenever I smoke weed I declare my beliefs above the law

Mosques should be closed if ties to extremists

If there is actual convincing evidence that ties a mosque to terrorism, perhaps. But it would have to be at an organizational level and not some rando. Otherwise you could just agent provocateur the shit out of mosques

should not accept refugees

I'd flip a coin on this one

Wow there is a surprise !

Let's face it: The creator of Islam, the Psycho MohahahahaMAD, according to Islam's own HADITHS, PERSONALLY beheaded ~ 20 of his prisoners who rejected his Islam thus making Psycho MohahahahahaMAD the model for the ISIS TERRORIST maniacs.......so, the followers of this Psycho MohahahaMAD, i.e., the Muslimes whether directly, or indirectly, are the cause for Islamic Terrorism.

Having read the irrefutable facts above, any one STILL defending Islam, the religion created by the Psycho MohahahahahaMAD, the model for the ISIS TERRORIST maniacs, is either a f-ing muslime, or insane.
