Why BDS is anti-Semitic

American reactionaries say every criticism of their system is communist, American racists say any attack on them is organised by Jews, Zionist Nazis say any criticism of them is anti-Semitic. Those who have no arguments inevitably play these games.

And every group has these people.

And every group has these people.

Yes, but some rely on them more than others, and the less you have arguments, the more you rely. Zionism was an (entirely understandable) reaction to Hitler - 'that's what works, let's do as near the same as we can get away with' - but it proved unnecessary to destroy everything the Jews had ever stood for, and people are left pathetically supporting 'our people' the way so many British did the Nazi Smith in Rhodesia, back in the days when I got my LP branch to support the bombing of Beit Bridge, which would have stopped it dead.

People have to remember that the Likud party which effectively runs Israel openly sabotages any attempt at peace, and has anti-peace measures carved into the Likud party platform. Netanyahu was caught on tape bragging about how he sabotaged the Oslo Accords. That doesn't mean the other side is innocent -- they are not -- but the onus is ultimately on Israel as the stronger side who holds ALL the cards. Palestinians are driven by desperation, Israel is not.

The BDS movement is designed to motivate Israel into better behavior and to end the occupation, not out of some racist sentiment towards Jews or even Israelis (23% of which are actually Arab).

And there you have it.

The OP is a racist twazzock.

You call Ian Smith a Fascist, yet ignore a far greater despot like Robert Mugabe. Smith warned everybody, including that arsehole Harold Wilson, what would happen and it has all come to pass, in spades. If you were honest you'd acknowledge that.

Yeh that's specious bullshit. BDS closed down the Sodastream factory which provided employment for hubdreds of Palestinian workers.

Like criticism of America as racist. Obviously Palestinians in 'Israel' and 'black' people in America enjoy full, safe rights. Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy see to that!

Crap, we thought you were banned. Everyone was rejoicing.

BULLSHIT.

BDS is aimed at the State of Israel, not the Jewish people .. many of whom support the goals and ideas of BDS.

Anti-Zionism is not anti-semitic either .. just ask the plethora of Jewish groups within Israel who are anti-zionists.

I could take the BDS more seriously if anti-Semitism wasn't so rampant in international bodies.

The UN for instance:

On March 24, 2016, the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) concluded its annual meeting by labelling Israel as the worst violator of women’s rights in the entire world. Despite pronouncing themselves as an intergovernmental organization that is “instrumental in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women,” one clearly should not judge an IO based on its mission statement.

__________

Amongst all the serial human rights abusers in their neighborhood, the UN singled out Israel[!] and only Israel, for condemnation.

That kind of thing makes it difficult for me to take your side of the argument seriously.

Nobody important, just the flotsam and jetsam from the DCJ shipwreck, apart from the decent ones like Anatta, Bill and Sailor of course. You'll have to make a bigger voodoo doll to conjure up some serious juju.

Yes and don't forget that they elected Saudi Arabia to the UN Women's Rights Committee, now that is seriously beyond parody. A watchdog director said it was akin to an arsonist being appointed fire chief!

Yes and anybody that dares to criticise no immigration and migrants is called a racist. Just like New Labour did to deflect attention from their open door policy, which has caused so much disruption. The toerag that planted the bomb at Parsons Cross was a Syrian refugee, he repays our kindness by trying to kill innocent people.

Also known as letting the fox guard the hen house.

With all the prattle from the left about 'institutionalized racism/bigotry' it's telling they turn a blind eye to the blatant antisemitism of the *institution* known as the UN.

Since he caused all that happened later, it is not surprising, is it? What do you call a racist dictator who denies popular sovereignty - Trump?

I suspect you'd rather choke than admit that Smith was right. Mugabe is a despot cut from the same cloth as Idi Amin and Pol Pot.
