Liberal Democrats are their own worst enemies. Spent money/time/lobbying on keeping porous borders and scaling back interdiction.
Now if you banned guns in the US, they would flow through the border as a new black market commodity. This would also have a secondary impact of killing thousands of gun/bullet/accessory jobs in the US. 100,000s of jobs.
The loss would prop up other countries economies, who make guns. IE china/Russia.
It would also be a huge boost to Latin American Cartels who would have a new BM commodity to smuggle in and sell to Americans.
Finally, solving crime would be made harder. Since no registations would be made to legal gun owners. IE Handguns. Making unsolved murders even higher.
