The daughter of Sherry West, Ashley Glassey, said she does not want to falsely accuse anyone but she wants the truth.

Glassey, 21, lives in New Jersey and said her mother lost custody of her when she was 8. She said she has forgiven her mom and has spoken to her every day since Thursday's shooting but said some of her mother's responses have her concerned.

Glassey said she started to have her doubts after receiving a phone call from her mother telling her that her brother, Antonio Santiago, had been killed. She claims the night of the shooting her mother asked, "How soon do you think life insurance policy will send me a check?"

Glassey tells First Coast News she hopes her suspicions are wrong but based on conversations with her mother she's not sure. Glassey described their discussions by saying her mother is crying one minute and then sounds fine the next.

Louis Santiago is now locked up in the Glynn County Detention Center along with the teen charged with murdering his 13-month-old son, Antonio.

The child's mother claims Santiago "went nuts" in the months following the baby's death and he violated a restraining order.

"He was throwing things through the window and terrorizing me, saying that I killed my baby and it should have been me," said Sherry West, the mother of the slain baby.

According to the state's forensic report obtained by Action News, Santiago had a small quantity of gunshot residue on his hands the day their son was killed in March.

Defense attorneys filed a court discovery motion claiming " Santiago, a convicted felon, had discharged a firearm at or about the same time that his son was shot."

This is the same stupid point Zimmerman's brother made in his tweet. The only similarity about the two cases is that they are interracial. The more interesting question is why would you compare them? Also, why are the conservatives STILL talking about the Zimmerman case?

I take it that you were unaware of the following:

Defense attorneys also point to lab tests by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that found traces of gunshot residue on swabs taken from the hands of West and the boy's father, Louis Santiago. Reports filed in court say the GBI found a single microscopic particle of gunshot residue swabbed from the father's hands, while more than five particles showed up in swabs from West's hands.

The GBI report cautioned that gunshot victims can end up with residue on them. During a preliminary court hearing, Santiago said he touched the bullet wound on West's leg before his hands were swabbed.
